MODS feel free to move to appropriate thread if needed. been along time since ive been here..

usually i get the watson 75mq, but today got the sandoz brand and they are film instead of the reservoir...

anyone have experience w/these? last time i used film were the mylans and they put me into WD's something bad...

i usually just wear the patch, not suck on the gel... was wondering if i could expect the same problems as the mylan...

thanks

You find the matrix patches to be less effective, to the extent that they put you into withdrawal? That's unusual. Have you tried wearing the patches yet? Hopefully, they should work just as well as the others...I haven't heard of this before. Sorry that I can't really offer anything at this point...there must be more to this. Did you feel anything at all, wearing the film patches, previously?

Although you obviously use these appropriately, have a tolerance, and know what you're doing, as a general warning to others, I would recommend staying away from using these any way but "as directed," (not to be condescending to you, just for anyone reading this,) just because in doing so it is EXTREMELY easy to overdose, and fentanyl does not indicate to you as well as most opioids do, how much you've done in regard to how much is too much. Also because fentanyl withdrawal is horrendous and fentanyl is probably one of the easiest opiates to use in order to increase a tolerance quickly.

about 3 yrs ago i had to use the god awful mylan patches and was in WD in 24 hrs..... this was after using the watson generic for about 6 mnths.. it was really bad..i wound up in the ER and they kindly switched the unused mylans for watsons...
i know that many people had problems going from the gel to the mylan/film then, but since this is BRAND new, was just wondering if the issues were resolved with the problems that the mylans had..

and yes, screwing w/fent is a quik way to die.. i dont even know why people try..

edit: just put on the first sandoz 'film' patch today. so i wont really know how well it works for at least 24 hrs.. ill defo report back...

If you wear the patches as directed whats the problem? Don't expose the patch to heat or hot water, it say this on the box.

Generally, at least with the Mylan patches, it seems to me that it is possible at least to tell that they're working within ~6-12 hours.

I certainly hope that this issue was resolved, but perhaps it was a problem of the gel patches releasing more fent in a shorter period of time, the correction of which would lead to a slower, steadier release than you were/are used to? Hopefully this will not be the case and everything will be fine, but if you find yourself in serious trouble, perhaps ask your doctor about either switching you to a higher dosage to account for the difference in speed of release, or adding an instant-release medication to your regimen, in order to combat symptoms as you adjust.
