I don't have a problem with people smoking cigarettes as long as they don't do it in my home, or my car.

I just think people should quit because the potential health risks are definitely not worth any effects you get out of tobacco.

I'm not sure what you meant by grapefruit juice, but GFJ is a CPY3a4 INHIBITOR whereas nicotine is a CPY3a4 INDUCER.

Basically cpy3a4 is what controls the breaking down of opiates. If you inhibit it, that means you're going to get your jam longer and potentially stronger (in most cases, I don't need anyone brining up the codiene example).

If you were to take an inducer, that would mean you would have more of cyp3a4 and your jam would go away quicker.

grapefruit juice = inhibitor
nicotine = inducer

i was programmed for the last year to smoke a cig right after i would shoot my suboxone. several times a day every day. and i wasnt even getting high! needless to say, when i was using heroin, which was the last 4 years i sure as shit NEEDED a cig after i fixed. i would go so far as to bum one or pick a butt up off the street. thats how bad i fucking craved it after doing a shot.

It seems to me that the vast majority of habitual opiate users that I have encountered smoke cigarettes, especially immediately after starting to feel a dose of said opiate (so, immediately, or almost immediately, for snorters/IV and IM users.)

Forgive my drudging up a rather old thread, but I had a lil' theory as to why having a cig post-Opioid ingestion is (so fucking) lush...

I'm under the impression that Nicotine - plus the inclusion of tobacco also including substances which produce small MAOI effects - is also doing it's best to flood the brain's "pleasure center" with Dopamine also.
And with the blood-brain-barrier already susceptible for passing, it has a greater effect than it would do usually.

But I can't explain as to why it also enhances all the other effects of Opioids, such as the sedation and whatnot :?
 
Anytime I'm on opiates or alcohol especially I smoke like a gotdamn chimney.

There must be some sort of physiological explanation as to why I crave cigs so much when on opiates.

I kind of feel like the buzz from the opiates fades shortly after smoking though anybody else get that.

When i'm sober i'm fine without cigs..actually dislike smoking cigs a lot.

Even when i smoke herb i don't like cigs, only when drinking or on opiates.

Just had 50mg hydro and i'm now feeling the urge to get of here and smoke a cig...wish i had more weed than i do though...opiates just aren't complete without a nice bowl or j, or blunt.
I wish i had some hash, stuff goes great with opies.
