DMT Pain

On the comedown from my 10 or so DMT experiences, I've noticed a shooting pain that starts in my mid spine and travels down my left leg to about my ankle. I don't think the crystal quality was a factor - I always recrystallized 'til they were super clear/white. The pain lasts for about 10 minutes or so. Massaging usually helps. Does anyone have similar experiences with pain on smoked DMT? Do you think it's more of a mental thing (as opposed to being physical)?
 
i think its a mental thing, yes.

perhaps just some undealt with emotion/pain that was not addressed properly, just reminding you that you missed it.
 
^^ At the same time it could very well be Something much more severe than that. Has this happened every time you smoked dmt or only more recently? Honestly, if it persists on happening i would stay away from dmt. Pain is our brains way of telling us something is wrong. Severe spinal pain is nothing to write off.

Sorry though, i really can't offer any specific help as i have no idea what it could be and don't want to give any bad advice.

I don't think it is undealt-with emotions. I haven't really been using DMT to help with personal problems (that what LSD is for :] ). I just use it to go explore space, leaving my emotions/ego behind. These trips have been spaced out over about a year and a half, too. I think I'll take it easy with the d from now on. Thanks for the responses.
 
Just curious, Im sure you would have mentioned it but it hasn't happened with any other substances correct? Psychedelic or not.
 
Sounds like a mental thing. You've felt it once and now you're expecting it to happen every time.
 
One time I felt pain from smoked DMT...

But it was durring the experience.

And it was because I was actually sweating crystals out of my pores.

(when I was done with the trip my arms were covered in clear sand , like tiny shards of glass, and I had just taken a shower like 15 minutes before i smoked the DMT, so I know I wasnt just dirty)

wut?!

can you expand a bit on the experience itself, was there anything during the trip that you can link to this rather unusual phenomenon?!
 
I actually tried some again last night, and didn't notice any pain. It was the biggest dose I've ever had. I had that really nice afterglow and no pain at all. Perhaps it's all in my head.

And caseface, I hadn't noticed it on anything else before.

As for crystal sweating...That happens to me, but only after extremely intense workouts. Maybe it's a sign of dehydration? I imagine they're mostly NaCl crystals. It could be super saturated in sweat glands maybe?
 
Hm. May kinda possibly maybe sorta be related. I hate how little is known about receptors. That's why I'm a computational biochemist working on protein receptors, I guess. Still undergrad though. i.e. kinda dumb. :p
