so i shot about a half point into my forarm and i dont think i missed but i may have, but anyways it's hurting and a tad bit swollen... it's sore so i was wondering if this could be from injecting to fast and stretching/bulging my vein or just from missing. I have shot in this vein before and it hurt like this too. idk what it is. It's hurting tho and i'm not too nervous but still want to be cautious. can anyone help me out? maybe i could have hit a nerve? if so whats the deal on that?

I don't think that you could stretch out the vein unless you didnt untie before you shot.

what do you think it could be thats makin it hurt? im using a brand new rig so i could have slipped but i really dont think i did.

No, you are supposed to register with the tourniquet on, untie, then shoot. Actually you don't even need a tourniquet if you have nice enough veins.

ok so i should tie off. hit the vein, untie then shoot the dope?

EDIT: nvm i just realized im asking something that has already been answered.

yea, so maybe you did stretch out the vein if you didn't untie. I don't know though, but its a possibility

do you have any idea what it feel like when you hit a nerve and if swelling follows? i have a feeling thats what happened

I don't know, but i'm sure somebody that does know will be around shortly to post.

No, that's dangerous, you want to undo the tourniquet before injecting.

The added pressure could cause your vein to burst.

I IV frequently and have never needed a tourniquet. If you can shoot up without one, that's what I would advise.

you dont think thats what happened do you? or would i know immediately?

and if you could please direct me to the Injection FAQ or guide. Im looking for the one with the pictures in it of the needles after use.

I think you would know immediately, or within 10-15 seconds, because you wouldn't get a rush, and the high would come on really slowly compared to making your shot.

It might have happened, but it also could be a histamine reaction from what you describe. I'm not sure. Can you still see the rest of your vein, above and below the injection site?

The IV mega thread: http://www.bluelight.ru/vb/showthread.php?t=487276

You can find that and many more links in the second post of the OD Directory (the link to the directory is in my signature and at the top of Other Drugs).

I cant see because of the swelling but i can feeling it all the way through up and down. is that good? and if i did burst it what type of medical attention am i gonna need or does it heal itself?

The swelling might be due to a histamine reaction. If you can still feel the vein up and down, yes, that is a good thing.

If it was burst, it won't need medical attention; it should heal itself.

In a few hours it should be better. If not, then it might take a few days (and would most likely be burst, a histamine reaction only lasts a few hours tops).

ok thank you that is extremely relieving. it was my basilic vein that i injected into. Also whats it feel like when you hit a nerve, if you know...? idk why but it feels like an irritated nerve. This is my last question i promise, im not trying to annoy anyone.

It sucks when you hit a nerve with a needle. It feels like, painful. It can either be somewhat uncomfortable, or a very sharp pain, which is difficult but not impossible to overlook in order to inject.

When you hit a nerve and feel pain you are supposed to replace the needle in a different angle/alignment so that you don't have to hit the nerve. Injecting doesn't have to hurt.

Feel free to ask questions though, someone else might have the same questions you do but may not want to ask them/sign up to do so. I don't mind answering questions to help out people. :)

i know man, I appreciate it. I really do. You have almost posted on all of my "threads of worry" and calmed my nerves many-a-time. I really appreciate it Captain! I salute you! %) and with respect I ask you one more question for this thread/post, East or West Coast?
