edtree, if it makes you feel any better I have been on this site for about 100,000 years and have been to nearly as many meetups in that time and have not once had trouble with The Man. Like lostpunk said, it would be pretty monumentally stupid to bring drugs to a meeting organised on this site, but as long as you don't then there won't be an issue.

Cops have got too many aboriginal kids and otherwise harmless people to harass to bother stopping a bunch of middle class white people from enjoying a drink and maybe something to eat from pieface later. :p

I *may* not be able to make absinthe anyway... I've got my work xmas party on that evening... not really sure if I want to go to it, but probably should. Meaning I'll likely have to skip absinthe and catch up with you peeps afterwards :)

yes... i have joined the world of the employed... it is strange and bright and I'm realluy not sure if it is worth it... but they give me money...
 
So I've decided that I'm going to my work xmas party, so I'm definitely out for absinthe, but am definitely in for post-absinthe shenanigans. Have we figured out where we are going after there yet? Is it buried somewhere in this thread where I haven't bothered searching/reading? Probably... if not, still, it is someone elses turn to find the information that I need!! Do it!! DO IT NOW!!

Hey CB, the preliminary plan was Hotel Hollywood, 'cause it's in Surry Hills so walking distance from the Absinthe place but if you or anyone else has a suggestion, you know, we could do that instead...
 
I'm easy :);)

So I'm not going to my work xmas party any more because they moved it from Friday the 3rd to Saturday the 11th, when I have a wedding to go to...

So, I'll try and book in at the absinthe place, but if I can't, then I'll catch up with youse all afterwards... wherever is fine :)
 
Raz and I were talking about where to go after the absinthe place the other night and we're thinking the Hollywood might not be the best idea...it's small and i don't even think they have tables to accommodate 14+ people.
That, and they don't serve food.

We thought maybe the Central Hotel or the Shakespeare??
They're not the greatest of pubs but they're likely not to be filled with complete wankers and they're close to Central and easy to find for anyone who wants to come and meet us out later. And they both serve food.

We figured we could meet at one and if it's terrible, make our way to the other? But I warn you, the Strawberry Hills is in between and it'll take all our collective powers to stop Raz from demanding we go there ;)

What d'yall think?
 
Actually, i'm pretty sure they've just finished renovating so maybe you won't get hepatitis just from touching the bar anymore.

Perhaps Raz, for the good of our Aus Social friends, we should take it upon ourselves to check this place out before the meet-up %)
