Now i've allways hated tramadol, but anyway, i got a badass eye infection, and it was like my eye and left side of brain were on fire... my doc refused to give me anything stronger than tram (and ani-bitotics)... despi my pleas for oxy... he said i would be fine in 24 hours... i later phoned him up saying if i was still in pain in 24hours there would be "consequences" (a combination of no sleep, bad mood, and severe pain")

anyway, i'm on 12mg bupe a day but haven't taken any in a few days... and to my AMAZEMENT, i took 375mg tramadol and am feeling good, slightly buzzed andd no pain..

sorry, my question, How long does tramadol last? (of course i won't be redosing until tomorow...(seizures)

i'm taking 50mg 4x a day to help manage nerve pain and i found that the particular pain it eliminates, the excessive "clamping" feeling you get with nerve damage seems to reappear about 12 hours from my last dose. iow, if i have a steady state of 50mg and then take no more on schedule it's around 12 hours before i get that particular hurting back. tramadol gets a lot of put down but with this nerve damage i'm very thankful for it. most likely the rate of metabolism affects the time as well as availability of whatever is needed to metabolize it.

IMO, tramadol is useless. Some people will take anything to try to catch a buzz.....

^ It works on some people, and doesn't on others... like any drug. Everybody's different.

I never tried tram, though.

tramadol is interesting, doesn't feel quite like any other drugs in its class. I don't want to combine it with much of anything else because I'm a little spooked by how much it can lower the seizure threshold for some people.

Yes energy and mood lift are considerable if you have the corresponding body chemistry to accommodate these effects. It is said to be long acting and I can feel the effects the next day if I take it late enough at night. Analgesic effects don't appear to be as good for me at least.

brides right I take them 3 times a day one to two but sometimes if Im wanting to catch a buzz I'll take like 8 and it gets me extreamly euphoric and I have a pretty good tolerance to even roxy's... Everyone is diff tho some say they don't even feel it

oh lol and last me from 4 to 8 depending on how much took if u take a lot say at night , u'll still feel it in the am

Yeah tramadol will make you feel good and I've found it does help moderate to moderately severe pain.

When I first started taking it effects lasted all day. 7 years being dependent on it, withdrawal always starts about 18-21 hours after last biggest dose. It's long acting for sure. Half-life for tramadol is 5-7 hours, and all of the metabolites are 9 hours. So that plays in real well with why I begin to feel withdrawal 18-21 hours later.

It'll last all day if you stagger your doses. For example take 100mg and then another 100mg 2 hours later. I'll start with that at 8:00AM and sometimes will have trouble sleeping because of that opioid half sleep/half awake feeling.

I'd also like to add that tramadol seems to help cold symptoms. I have a fever and combining tramadol with Tylenol is making me feel halfway normal and functional. Earlier I was in bed with a fever and could barely move. Now I'm fixing to go to town. %)
