Salvia is reality?

^Troll.

I didn't say to suck leaves. Most effective is a standardized potency LIQUID EXTRACT, like "Emerald Essence", from Daniel Siebert, one of the original biochemical research scientists involved with Salvia. Do a large enough dose of that and it will kick your ass quite effectively, as obviously that is what you want and need... just as I am sure Leo could also kick your ass without breaking a sweat... with you shouting "Oh Yea! Give it to me! Give it to me!" the entire time. :D

Well no doubt many people can and do get satisfying results from smoking. It probably does take a person of greater insight and fortitude, as you suggest... as it seems alot of people try it then go running away from it, frightened out of their wits. So for them I suggest the Liquid Extract, if they were intrigued but scared by the smoke. Though at strong dose levels it also can still be extremely intense and weird and let your mind go all kinds of places it was not necessarily designed to go that could be difficult to handle.

But if you can handle and enjoy the smoke, by all means, you big sexy tough guy (<3), go for it. I am sure Goddess Salvia is loving every second of the slamming you give to her 8)

It was just an expression... I really don't believe in "Goddess Salvia."

I have to agree that while in the Salvia mindset, it does indeed seem like that state is the REAL truth behind consciousness, and this which we call "reality" in our "normal" state is indeed some kind of fantasy or game that the "salvia beings" are having just to play around or have fun or "park themselves" in temporarily or something. But the thing is.... when the Salvinorin-A wears off... we always come back here, no?

"Comes on slowly and deliberately, like a gentle instructor teaching your mind the new steps to a magical dance. But one that you find much to your surprise you already know and have done before. Slow enough that you can actually observe the process of transformation that is happening... feel slowly opened doors to new ways of seeing and understanding... accept as enchanting visions the experiences you are being offered. Yet you recognize it all... a slowly dawning, highly moving feeling of Deja Vu, of coming home, an undeniably potent to the core sensation of "This is where I and all of our 'I's are originally from... deep blue cobalt light, the most beautiful illumination you have ever seen, comes up from the ground and from behind objects in your local environment, deepening the ancient and inviting magical trance, until you drift off, close your eyes and simultaneously open them in a brilliant golden honey-colored sun illuminated field, meadow or yard that you cannot place but remember having run in... blue sky and clouds float spacily by overhead... and you close your new eyes in this place... only to simultaneously open them in the next vista of endless imagination.... this could go on forever you think to yourself... NO... this HAS BEEN going on forever... vaguely, fondly remembering your Earthly human existence as but one stop among an infinite number of way-stations your eternally traveling spirit has visited then left... visited then left.... visited then left..."

Concur 1000%! The sensation of "Deja-Vu" is really strong and deep for me... the details of the individual experiences hardly seem coherent enough to matter, except for one, when I smoked it while on LSD... experience was VERY coherent and still "worries" me to this day:

Ummm... I dunno... are you usually afraid of sweat?

You should not be... maybe you are really an Indian long ago in a sweat lodge and you have eaten some Peyote your shaman has given you.

Last time I did this combo the salvia smoke was really sage smoke mixed with magical herb that Shaman, leaning over me was blowing into my mouth, trying his best to awaken me from a Vision Quest dream whose grip I had fallen far far too strongly under... for a few moments I recognized him through the swirling smoke and the teepee I lay on the hard ground next to, and I remembered my entire life with my plains people, and I remembered that I had just gotten stuck in some terrible nightmare about a strange future where my people were all slaughtered and Mother Earth was over run by awful mean violent people of a thousand different tribes all fighting each other and raping the earth.. I heard great very old very wise ocean teachers called "whales" singing to me, but I could understand them, singing a warning that the Sun had sung to them about how the overtakers were about to kill everything everywhere with their excess and selfishness and they were all hypnotised by these strange glowing flat pieces of slate that had moving pictures on them.... But Shaman's smoke magic was not strong enough and I got sucked back down into this terrible nightmare we call USA 2010, and here I am again! I sure hope Shaman tries again to wake me up back to my real life, and I will warn them of this horrible future where the Earth Mother and all her people and animal children are fighting and crying all the time. I long for that day. TIll then I will try to help you awaken from YOUR too-strong future vision-dreams from here on the inside! Join me, won't you?

Am I REALLY that Indian boy trapped in a vision-quest-dream of THIS reality??? Hmmmm.... still I do wonder... that experience was SO clear and bright and real and consistent, I have alot of trouble dismissing it as a fantasy or wish... yet here I am stuck permanently in in 20th century USA it would seem!

But even the "balloon careening around the room" type of random salvia smoke experiences have a STRONG feeling of: I've BEEN HERE BEFORE, FOREVER!!! My 'human' life is just something that this fleet butterfly-like 10-dimensional salvia-being who I REALLY am flits into for a lark or maybe to learn... seems like a full life as a human but once my mind "pops out" of the human mind and back to salvia-dimension, time is at like a 90 degree angle to our time sense here, and has no meaning... an entire human life only lasted a blink from that perspective... this sense that OH YEA, *THIS* IS WHAT I REALLY AM... WHAT A RELIEF!!! NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT AND TAKE SO DAMN SERIOUSLY... ALL THE PAIN AND SUFFERING WAS JUST A DREAM OF SOME KIND, HAHA, HEHE, AWAY WE GO, WHEEEE! OFF TO SOME OTHER MENTAL ADVENTURE, PERHAPS AN ALIEN OR A TREE OR A STAR THIS TIME, YAHOO!

I am not kidding, that's what it has seemed like to me more than a few times. WTF is all that??? What does it mean? Is it some other way of perceiving my consciousness in the universe, equally valid as this human "I" ego glued and trapped inside this skull? Seems that way while the salvia lasts, but then I end up back here again, and this seems more real, except for that lingering feeling of strong Deja Vu I had while "over there".

NOTE: I also agree with later posts that sublingual is the way to go... the original way the shamen did it... some extracts don't work though... the one called "Emerald Essence" from Siebert, the original researcher of the stuff, really did do it VERY effectively however... cheaper ones did not. SAME Deja Vu effect, only the whole thing evolves more slowly and lasts ALOT longer and you can actally bring more back, but it still seemed quite dreamy, but also REAL, as if I was WAKING UP from THIS world which is the dream, back to my TRUE NATURE in a way that is hard to describe. Also, I always got a sense of Pine Trees (from the taste/smell of the salvia) and oddly, but very beautifully, strong strong feeling of seeing a very clear very deep Cobalt Blue light everywhere, behind and i inside of everything. Anyone ever get that on salvia, especially sublingual?

Oh yea... I always found that to get my mind to separate from my body and allow the trance to properly form, I need STILL and QUIET. Movement, touch, noise all seem to prevent the separation, and pull me back into my regular human place. So try to sit/lay as motionless as you can for the best chance to get it to work... even jostling or giggling by friends it the room can mess it up, at least for me.

I am very interested in hearing more detail about the "rotating machines" and the Salvia Realm Beings.

You seem to possess a very unique ability to translate the smoked Salvinorin transmissions into lucid thoughts that you are able to express in words in this "normal" reality mode.

Most people are just flumoxed by it all, but you do seem to be some sort of natural interpreter. I am interested in hearing more, my friend.

Ah, FrenchMachine... I just realized you had some detailed writeups you linked to above. I will have to read them... and those videos look very interesting as well... is that you in them?

The repeating themes on Salvia (and to a lesser extent, on DMT and Ketamine) are really striking though. The "to the left" thing &c. It has to be a particular element of the pharmacology.

as regards the "to the left" business, I wonder, has anyone who is left-handed experienced that? have any lefies heard "t othe right?"

Actually, yes. I'm mostly left-handed and whenever I've smoked Salvia in the past I would feel a pull to the right. Nowadays I just chew quid, and strangely do not experience much of a pull in any direction.

I didn't really get pulled in any direction i did a sort of curve with my head. I started of going left then dipping down and heading right and coming up, then i had to go back in this pattern, and my neck had to keep swirling like a spring, to come back out. I could feel the "area" in empty space in front of me in which I moved. This is what I had to follow to get out. It was my whole body also, not just my neck and head, my whole body couldn't move out of the area I was in, or I would feel out of place.

You're right, the affects that Salvia had on all three of my friends isn't what made me question our reality, and believe that Salvia is actual reality. At first the common themes just made me believe that the plant itself had some sort of intelligence. The third last paragraph is what made me question reality.

I've read on the other Salvia threads, and read a few trip reports of Salvia too, and quite a few of them mention polygonal shapes or things being in 2D. Since scientists believe real reality is in fact 2D, it just seemed to piece itself together.

I posted the link to the article earlier, and someone else posted a video of the scientists talking about this theory, but the video doesn't really explain too well, why they believe reality is a hologram. It does explain blackholes very well tho.

I'm not sure how healthy it is to talk about a powerful and wildly unpredictable drug state as reality. People have killed themselves in the past over such beliefs, including that kid in Delaware who smoked salvia and wrote in his suicide note that life wasn't worth living because he knew about the "real" reality of salvia (I'm not blaming salvia, just illustrating a point about the ways how we interpret such experiences can have powerful consequences). Human beings have always deified or seen metaphysical dimensions in powerful phenomena they don't have explanations for, and salvia is no different.

Smoked DMT often causes users to see what they believe is the gear works of the cosmos and its little elf maintenance men, yet that world is a lot different than salvia's. How can they both be "real" in the exact same way? For these two worlds to be symbolic of the same underlying reality there needs to be a way to consistently translate between both of them and events in our consensus reality, and I'm not aware of any evidence of such beyond our shared drug-dazed hazy intuitions about "oneness," or "universal consciousness".

Tomorrow another chemical could be discovered that provides another overwhelming experience totally incongruous with either the saliva or DMT experience. These experiences are an alternate perspective of consciousness, and that's about all that can be said of them with regard to reality independent of us without independent evidence. Salvia does prove that the scope of our possible experience as humans is wider than we can imagine, which I find entirely life affirming without the need to make further judgments, but I don't think we can make reliable statements about the world outside of the scope of that consciousness from within it.

I've only tried Salvia once and I got nadda. I'm hoping to try it out a couple more times but I'm warey about smoking it. Apparently she doesn't like being smoked.

But the thing is.... when the Salvinorin-A wears off... we always come back here, no?

So a game of unmeasurable ambiguity has been going on since the beginning of eternity as we know it based on some some of gear system with an entity starter/overwatcher and it's time for it to come to and end because you hit a bowl of salvia?

Sounds like a midgame hint card unless it was an accident and salvinorin-A was supposed to be a vestige for the ending of eternity upon the first brain it slammed. Or it is nothing at all besides a bunch of people twizzing out on drugs!

Salvia for me, is unpleasant, almost feels like narcan/naltrexone while on opioid (well it does bind to dynorphin receptors which explains this). The psychedelic space is a confusing void, where knowledge of my existence disappears, and is taken over by a mindfuck very much unreal. How do I know its not real? Well, I once thought that my whole life never existed and I had been in this "green carpet" world forever, but nope, was just on my couch freaking out.

Salvia is a dead end psychedelic, more like dissociative. It has some similar feelings to K but much creepier and dark. Any revelation about reality is most likely just BS that the messed up brain comes up with.

We do have a seemingly magical, strange existence in this world/universe. How did we get here? What made the universe? What is outside the universe? What was before the universe? What is the fundamental nature of spacetime/relativity and quantum mechanics? All great things to question and ponder, but salvia has no answers, it just seems to twist what we know into something unreal, no basis in reality. For me anyways. The questioning of reality and existence is best done with tryptamines and 'cid IMO. At least those are creative and not something that looks like one of those "bad salvia trip" youtube videos.

The main (and only?) benefit salvia has is being so relieved to be sober when you come out of it.

You guys are misinterpreting why I think the world of salvia MIGHT be reality. I myself have never gone into this world so have no subjective opinion of it. I think it might be reality because of what physicists believe about the nature of reality, that it is in fact 2D much like the salvia world. Also beings in this world telling my friends that salvia world is reality. But moreso the physicists.

I can definitely see how I have experienced the zipper effect, although at the time it felt like some entity was tapping its fingers on my tounge all the way down through my throat and lungs.

HOLY SHIT I SWEAR TO GOD EVERYTHING YOU SAID IS EXACTLY THE SAME FOR ME

this is too wierd this is the first time anyone has shared a salvia trip that was similar to mine. everything you said. it feels like both jaws just extend forever in opposite directions and parts of me are folding over. while i was in it the first time i was POSITIVE this was the afterlife. my second trip was scary kinda because i was back in this place but i knew i didnt belong there and was trying to get out.

also, the first several tiems i smoked salvia i didnt have a breakthrough

i got the feeling like everything was 2D and someone or something in the salvia world was holding up our reality. When i was tripping i saw everything from a different angle. for example, you are looking at your computer right screen right now. once lifted on salvia, your perception changes where you are now looking more from the side so you can see the side of the monitor. only now, you see (whoever/whatever it is) holding up the back of the computer screen, and everything else that you could not see when oyu were looking straight on.

does this make sense to anyone else? it is so hard to describe it because the salvia world makes absoluttely no sense in our world

People read too much pop quantum physics and eat too many drugs.

That doesn't mean that salvia isn't damned interesting though.

And thanks a million for that left/right insight, ikkyu,it was something that I was wondering about lately! Very interesting!

"Salvia is reality?" does not capture quantum physics very well, but where quantum physics has led to a lack of data and the paradoxes it has brought forth is quite an odd place, drugs or not.

I will wholeheartedly agree with that. Whats been made obvious is that our internal "picture" of what the "real world" is, is in effect a highly stylized cartoon, designed by evolution to be useful for doing typical primate things like moving around and reproducing that will lead to propagation of our DNA, but clearly is only a very itty bitty slit of a view on what "reality" actually "is"... whatever "IS" is. :D
