^^ Certainly C.H, good idea <3

I am devastated and heartbroken to hear the news about jf. I hate it when we lose one of our own. I hope he's found what he was looking for.
RIP my friend <3

A baby owl fell out of one of the big evergreens in the backyard and into the cherry tree by the front porch to day in a windstorm............It was sad and cute at the same time.

Was the owl alright? If it was alright it was just cute lol. We have a bird feeder out in our front yard and we get alot of bluejays there and 1 or 2 woodpeckers that come around and alot of crows. I figure there must be a good 20 different bluejays around there. It's funny but they swoop right over your head going to another tree or to get a peanut or whatever. Ive put peanuts on the feeder and had bluejays pitch right next to me and i even put my hand on a few by accident when i reached around the bird feeder.

Awww! poor thing, love owls my cat is very 'owl-like' which is weird because obviously they would be dinner to her! Its that Nocturnal stare with the dilated pupils and the furry tuft around her neck.

:) Its so humbling, when a creature shares its space with you!

Anyone know what are those bright Scarlet birds in the US/MASS called, they seem to be fairly Uniformly Red/Mix of Red w/Deep, Cerise colour(look like flickers of Autumn leaves in the Trees) , saw them in Boston during the Summer-there incredibly vibrant and beautiful?

I think the baby owl was okay- We did get a picture. I think its tail was injured but I think he survived.
I love owls too.
I lost a baby once and there was a connection with owls at that time- So owls always remind me of my baby. Some cultures believe they are symbols of Death, but some believe they are your ancestors........
Owls are cool. <3

^ Hope he did.
Sorry to hear that ocean*Hugz*, have a friend of the Family who lost his baby girl; they have a little shrine to her out in their garden and decorate it with their other kids now on her Birthday/Holidays...very touching.<3

Remember you posting before about Bees reminding you of your Gran, I think? Pretty cool to have those connections with Nature, makes sense of things somehow. My Grand-Aunt, who I Adored, had red hair and had a love of fur trimmed Jackets. As a kid I used to call her 'the Fox'(yes I was a strange child ;))
Always associate them with her...

yes, that was delightful magic, after a weekend of trauma. i was full of toxic lightning until minutes before walking out for a smoke, looking around soaking in reality, restoring subconscious mental and physical control, feeling the actual weather, peace, and then he came plummeting through the tree, peeping four peeps at a time, flapping its wings wildly.
pure gold.

ocean tried filming it until it bucked up and sent her screaming ;) i was allowed a few feet away, and he looked right into the camera, pic, then flew into a big purple plum tree, leaving some undercoat/chick feathers in the wind, but neither of his tail feathers that were hardly hanging on.

there are several babes zigzagging across the fields and yards, giving these half hearted screetches, around 2 am since, they'll stay until the beginning of the year 2011! hurry! then leave for TRW...

i was coming in here to post about how the past six seven weeks my lithium has had me majorly manic, sleeping one to three hours a night if at all, thats always fun.
then a foolish dive off the klonopin, and a 60-80 mg oxy w/d combined together from thursday until monday left me, and more in shock... yyyikes.
now, a week later i feel iam rewiring, and different.

lol-im taking a forth IQ test, as my brain is rather coiled, and its hilarious how ive scored the same since early grade school...!

i need to load that picture of the owl, and baby tree frog that my cat found later that night.

st francis of assisi, also of human kindness and gardens

i love owls. there are a couple of great horned owls that i often hear, also at least one screech owl although it's call kinda creeps me out.
i don't like the damn crows esp one alone cuz they always hang out in a crowd, a "murder of crows" which freaked me that much more when i looked it up.

I'm not finding St Andrew as the patron of small animals at the moment but I found a passage that indicates he could be the patron of frolicking nude women.

Luther tells of an old German tradition in which young women ran around naked on Andrews feast day with the hopes of having a vision of their husbands-to-be.

Andrew has undisputed patronage of Scotland and Russia.
Here is Wikipedia's complete list which is likely not at all exhaustive
Scotland, Ukraine, Russia, Sicily, Greece, Romania, Diocese of Parañaque, Philippines, Amalfi, Luqa (Malta) and Prussia; Diocese of Victoria, Army Rangers, mariners, fishermen, fishmongers, rope-makers, singers, golfers and performers

One of my vivid childhood memories was seeing something sticking out sideways from a tree trunk. I ran up it stared me down and it was other worldly feeling. After what could have been a minute or could have been a half hour I withdrew and managed to move away. I figured out that it was a very big owl after I got away. In its presence my mental processes had ceased it seem liked. When ever a fantasy book has someone enthralled or mesmerized its that twighlight owl experience that I picture to some extent.

In memory now I'm surprised that the owl did not mind me starring at him from less than a foot away and that I was not scared, just as calm as could be.For a bit it seemed like this stare down was the whole world. Experience of myself and others since then is that owls have no use for being around people, If they like us at all its at a difference,Maybe they find little kids more tolerable or not a threat. I was 5 at the time,

They are a very wise and protective animal spirit to the Cherokee-my roots are Cherokee so I know this bc I have spent time on the reservation and done as much research as possible. I think there are a couple of other Native American clans who hold the owl in such high regard, but I can't recall them at the moment. The owl is known to visit the wise and offer protection from evils of the night. you should feel honored-and peaceful. here is a link that you can scroll down and read the short part about owls.

Much Peace and Love...and the wisdom of the Owl.........skillz<3
