Bupe Bupe isn't working for me this time and I am having a strange re/interaction...WTF?

My tolerance shot up a decent amount in a short time to where I was using 5mg buccal fentanyl a day for about two weeks with a little oxy/hydromorphone in. I ODed twice, the last one sending me to the ER about two weeks ago. About a day and a half after I ODed I started on 8mg/day suboxone and had no WD before then. The next day I had moderate and uncomfortable WDs lasting 3 days while still on 8mg/day of bupe, it was very surprising. On day 7 of bupe I started taking 200mg 2x a day carbamazepine. I am here on day 12 now and this entire time I have had mild WD that had made my recovery very difficult and uncomfortable. I get hot and cold flashes, sweats- both minor clamminess all the time to more noticeable where I have to wipe my hands dry constantly. I am sensitive to the temperature and will often shiver and even start trembling. I can't fall asleep. I get headaches and nausea often but the nausea is almost definitely related to a couple other drugs I'm on, I'm certain the other symptoms are WD and not sure about the headaches.

Now I found out yesterday the carbamazepine has an interaction with bupe which causes the bupe to metabolize faster. I had way too long of a WD even before I started it, and nothing has really changed since which makes me wonder if it has to do with the carbamazepine or not. Now I have started to get bad constipation the last few days which would seem to indicate a good deal of bupe has built up in my system and I used to get this way when I was on 6mg+/too much bupe before, yet I still have these other WD symptoms... I have used this much and more before for longer and have had all my physical WD go away in a day or two with the same amount or less bupe. I feel like shit and my cravings are still high, WTF is going on?
 
ok well, first if first.....

if the bupe is motabalizing faster, you may exp. some WD before your next dose....

it could actually be negative side effects from to high a dose of bupe......

and constipation will stay plugged for a long time, even if in WD

and you have not been clean for very long. the cravings will just take time...... im 8 weeks sober on bupe and i am still having cravings......

I have probably smoked a double digit number of cigs in my life so that can't be it.

@stag, cravings aside, 8mg a day for almost two weeks is a lot of bupe and I am having a really hard time believing an interaction could cause such drastic effects- bupe has a 20-70 w/ a mean 37 hour half life so it should rather quickly build more and more bupe in ones system. I can't believe I woud have WD after a couple days at this dose let alone 12-13 days later. Also this constipation is new as of a few days ago, I never had any constipation with my recent opioid binges.
 
sorry to hear about this. i was in a somewhat similair situation recently. i have a few questions: 1. how long was your binge? 2. were you taking sub at all during your binge? 3. how long have you been on sub? 4. how many binges have you had during sub maintenance?

i am not sure i can help you really, but i am curious. i recently tried to go on a self prescribed bup detox that didn't work. i went into precip withdrawals that were moderate but would not fucking go away. very very frustrating. after two days i caved and managed to end the misery with 320mgs OC.

well, best of luck to you buddy. i'm pretty sure what you are feeling is a sign that your body is adjusting. more pain, more gain.
 
Are you using the Suboxone under the supervision of a physician? I recommend that you do, using sub is a little trickier than you think.

while i agree, it is easily possible (if you know what your doing) to use bupe by your self.....

i did ...several times, but ran out of a connect and need to go to a doc...

That's the problem, you run out. I don't mean this personally, but it doesn't seem as if your suboxone detox plan is a rational one. You probably started before you were in withdrawal and that's why you got sick.

Why were you using the anti-epileptic on top of it?
 
I use 200ug a day yes .2mg split into two .1mg doses 12 hours apart and i was on 240mg of methadone before this and i did not taper i think the doses of bupe given are WAY to high i can do 8mg even 16 at a whack and get a kinda warm feeling but its a waste and if you plan to get off stay as low as possible i think your taking to much!

How many days has it been since you switched? That is just crazy.

I used to believe bupe doses were too high until now. I go into WD a bit before I have my bupe now and it goes away right after. .2mg wouldn't do shit for me.
 
Oxymorphone something to consider is the fact that addiction is very much a mental and physical issue. When I cold turkied i noticed that things like my own hunger, lack of sleep, and romantic thoughts of drug use triggered an addictive response in my body, stomach would begin to hurt, all the classic symptoms of a jones plus i would even salivate at the mouth at the thought of a fix. You seem to have the physical side of the recovery on lock down with the pharmaceuticals, now you need to get your mentals in check, and conquer your addiction. think redirect, constantly redirect yourself. you should have plenty of free time on your hands that you may or may not know what to do with it, try reading a book or playing an instrument.

I first went from 240mg of methadone then the next day switching to heroin for 3 days then waited until i was going into wds and a 10th of a quarter insuffulated did the trick and i have not looked back but the few relapses or rather planned continued use of opiates would require me when switching back to bupe to use three times the normal dose to feel OK even then for about 3 to 7 days after a binge i would feel like shit and more bupe only made it worse so bupe is a strange one indeed!

Oh and ive done 16mg at once IV of pure bupe and it cause me headaches and bad symtoms so watch out for using bupe along with other opiates cause something strange at the receptor must be going on.

Thats because 16mg IVed is absolutely ridiculous and is equal to 48mg sublingual and the maximum dose is 32mg where the ceiling for bupe is. You aren't going to get any recreational effects over 8mg and probably more like over 4mg (sublingual equivalent).
As for your experience with methadone just consider yourself very lucky because that is not a typical reaction.

I agree with you 16mg was way to high i wanted to see if more would do more just curious and knew it was fairly safe so but ya switching to the heroin for 3 days was key i think cause methadone lasts so long so i made the right choice and my bupe is so low at 5$ for a 8mg sub its so cheap but anyways ya soon im switching down to .175mg a day then ill go from there my goal is to be opiate free by next year i hope and only use them in pod form after strong psychedelic experiences as a tool and if that becomes a problem then i guess im done with opaites for good:(:(:(
 
U sure you didnt forget and leave one of those patches stuck to your ass or something ? 8o.



Wish i had more advice for ya, but good luck... .you've made it 12 days and whatever the fuck is going on now can't last much longer.
