So I will be going to my first "music festival on the 20th and I was wondering what I should I drink and not drink. I heard about that girl from EDC that drank water and died or something because her body couldnt absorb the water or something like that. So i wanted to be prepared. Anything in particular i should stay away from? i heard alcohol is a must stay away from. if water is okay to drink, how much? what about gatorade or something like that?? This may sound dumb but I really want to be sure. Thanks everyone!! <3

Drink water & sports drinks. Don't drink alcohol, energy drinks, soda, etc. because they will further dehydrate you.

The amount you drink really isn't as sensitive as some people make it out to be but you should drink about 2-5 bottles of water/sports drink over the course of a night depending on your level of physical activity.

Drink a whole bottle of water every hour and a half or so. Thats how I space out how much water I drink so I wont drink too much water.

space out the drinking of water also like a quarter of a bottle every 20 - 25 mins or so to keep hydrated. If your dancing the night away, drink more frequently.

Too much of anything! Not enough water!

If your dancing about like a loon then you obviously need to drink more water than if your sitting there watching the lights all night.

Those small bottles of water they sell at the raves are more than enough to last you a few hours - sip them though, dont dance for two hours, then chug one whole and then start dancing again. Small mouthfulls every now and then are all that you need.

Sport drinks (not energy drinks like Red Bull/Monster) are the best if you can get them :)

Honestly people blow this "drink a lot while rolling" thing way out of proportion. Honestly, just drink a tad more than you usually would. Try to think about how much dancing you've been doing. Even while sober you'd need a decent amount to replace your body with. If you feel a little thirsty, go take care of it.

Drink water but make sure not to drink to much or you will get water poisoning. Ice tea, gatoraid, and juice is also good. Stay away from drinks with caffine and excessive sugar like soda because it will dehydrate you.

It's really easy to know when you need more water, your mouth will get dry kind of like when you have cotton mouth. I don't even watch how much i drink, when ever i get thirsty or have a dry mouth ill take a small sip and im good.

This. Drink as much as you would normally if you were doing physical activity (that's if you're doing physical activity on MDMA - if you're sitting there doing nothing, drink as much as you normally would). Maybe drink a little more due to your body heating up and then sweating to cool yourself down more than usual - you need to replenish that sweat!

Also, for a first time MDMA user I'd advise staying away from Alcohol. I fucking love every little thing about Alcohol, especially in combination with MDMA, but if you don't know your limits on it I wouldn't advise trying it.

Stay away from drinks with lots of caffeine. Caffeine is a common filler for a lot of drugs to be cut with, and adding more caffeine to the mix won't help.

Only if you consider "drink a lot while engaging in physical activity" to be out of proportion too. When I play Ultimate, I drink more than normal and encourage other people to as well because sometimes, in the moment, we forget.

I don't know about you but when I'm rolling hard I sweat like a pig if I'm just standing around. In a crowded venue during the summer it could be downright gross if I bothered to notice. That sweat is coming from somewhere.

Dehydration sucks. Rolling is already a stress on your system and being dehydrated certainly won't help the next morning.

I usualy have a few alcoholic drinks before rolling, then as soon as i have dropped the pill it is water for the rest of the night.

I usually still drink alcohol while rolling but different things effect different people in different ways, I'm not much of a dancer though lol

I drink powerade if I can't take a piss, it helps out big time.

It depends a bit on what you do.

The Dutch advisory service DanceSafe suggests drinking one glass of water every hour of your roll.
Isotonic sports drinks are even better because they replace the salts that you lose and top up your blood sugar levels.
DanceSafe also recommends hydrating well in the days prior to the roll as well as getting a full nights sleep.

Honestly, do whatever your body tells you....you can't go by other ppls guidelines bc everyones bodies are different. If you feel thirsty, then drink some water or gatorade =) but don't go overboard bc that's how u drown :/

Since sports drinks replace the salts and all, that is it possible to die from drinking to much of a sports drink when your rolling? Ive been wondering cause im bad at monitering how much I drink so if you cant than ill change to drinking gatorade :)

Oh and im not talking about drinking like 2 bottles in 30 min lol I mean like will the amount of water to get water intoxication also be a dangerous amount with a sports drink. If that makes any sense

If I understand your question correctly, since sports drinks are mostly water drinking sports drinks would cause water intoxication at about the same volume as water.

Personally, I've never bought into the whole sports drink thing. Unless you are operating under extreme conditions for extended periods of time you're unlikely to deplete your electrolytes. Once you take out the electrolytes, what you're basically left with is sugar water. I mean, seriously, people on the frontier 200 years ago worked harder all day every day than any of us are likely to in a night at a rave and somehow they managed on straight water.

If you feel like it's necessary to give your recreational drug money to the shareholders of PepsiCo, knock yourself out. I choose not to feed the system.

I dunno about you, but I sweat A LOT after a good 8 to 10 hours of dancing with minimal breaks and yes water is fine but sports drinks are better. Plus they have sugars to give you more energy keep dancing. Plus they taste good.
