Is it just me, or do massives suck?

My last massive ~5,000 people was on the night before halloween. I was pretty weirded out overall and left around 11:30. Do you older rollers (21+) like going to massives where there is pretty much no age limit?

I much prefer going to the club and rolling there! At least 18+! I'm 26 and seeing lil' freaky middle schoolers all Halloweened up was too much. It seemed like everyone was just trying to get somewhere else. You couldn't move around well at all - you couldn't really dance. WEIRD! + I have no roll buddies right now so... :C

But I like them because massives usually have really good lineups and extra things like rides, scenery stuff, etc.. Now in LA, massives are usually 18+ or 16+, but before that happened I kinda just ignored the little kids and any bad vibes. It's easy for me to not really think about my surroundings, even if it is kind of shady, and just focus on the music and on my hubby/friends. Try to ignore it next time! Or maybe just stick to clubs/events that have an age limit if it really bothers you.
 
I went to one with close to 10,000 people the night before halloween too and it wasn't that great. Too many people who didn't even have any idea what PLUR is. Ironically the main reason I didn't like it was because it felt more like a club and almoat nothing like a rave. It was my first and last massive. I did fucking love getting to see Aoki and Infected Mushroom.
 
the most annoying things are like bumping into sweaty etards and trying to get the piss-room through etards lol :! :\ i agree with the underage pubeless ravers tho, that's why massive are usually all-age and also i'm getting old LOL

So I'm gonna give the next one a try - end of Nov... its gonna be in a different venue. I think there's going to be several hardstyle DJ's coming - Do you like MDMA + Hardstyle, or have any xperience?

Massives are hard because when I'm rolling I don't really like to stay in one place. Maybe a lot of people are like that and that's why everyone is wandering aimlessly.
 
Ive never been to a massive. But I do like the little raves ive been too.
I do prefer rolling with a few friends over a rave. Kick back. Listen to some thumpin bass. Yesssssssss:)

I fucking LOVE hardstyle when I'm rolling! Seriously good luck getting me off the dance floor for even a second.

Totally, I'm excited after reading comments like yours and also "Hardstykle is the only way to experience a rave :)"
 
I use to like to going to massives until about last year when it just got too popular and too over crowded. I use to be able to see people I have met at an event before and see them at the current event and be " hey its you " and what not and now its like more little kids than usual, a lot more ghetto people too. Nothing against them or anything but they're not helping the scene much. Its like PLUR has lost its way or meaning or something, cant really put it in words. Now I go to small scale ones 5000+ or 10000+, I only went to one massive this year and thats the least amount of massives i ever been to in a year. I also enjoy small scale concerts for main act Dj's and they have like 2 or 3 smaller acts before them.
 
Depends where they are and what the age limit is.

Honestly, I believe parties should be 21+ - if this was the case, they'd never get shut down as long as permits were in order.

But if its a huge venue like Red Rocks, massives are incredible. Its when you have something like Caffeine that is packed in a venue meant to hold less than half the people who are actually there and no ventilation that it sucks. It also sucks when you can't find a space to spin poi or even dance...
 
Well im only 18 and im still suprised how young a lot of the people that show up to raves around here. Yeah a lot of them say all ages im so suprised how many kids that look like theyre 14 and are at rave every week. It just boggles my mind

Yeah we call those prosti-tots. They're the ones that end up eating 10-15 beans and you see them being felt up and whatnot by 30+ year olds halfway through the night... And occasionally one goes to the hospital.

Shit, I started going to raves when I was 16 and there were no issues whatsoever. We did our thing and kept to ourselves. No problems whatsoever.

I went to ezoo last year and LOVED it despite some youngsters (I'm 31). Was a huge venue with only 4000 people showing up...huge venue. Coulda been the super sweet molly from that night too though =D.

Fast forward to this year's ezoo...was HELL. Same space, staff, portapotties, etc. but 30,000 people 8o. Waaaaaaay too many people...45 min. wait to use portapotty, hour to get in, 2 hours to get out. Were young and old people last year. This year, seemed young people far outweighed older people...no offense to young people. Also, should note pills & molly weren't as good this year.

Won't be attending massives anymore.
 
I like real massives only. . there is a once a year event in my city that is HUGEEEEEEE... it brings a lot of tourism from all around the world with top djs. It is in an open field park with 100,000+ ppl and it is AMAZING!! awesome, music, all types of ppl, and liberal drug use at the event
