xanax-alcohol mix sublingually?

I've been told that, it is a good way to take xanax sublingually by putting some drops of a alcohol under my tounge to the xanax powder. Is it really help the absorption of xanax? Could it be less dangerous than just eat the bars and drink a couple of beers?

Yes it would be less dangerous than drinking a few beers since you wouldn't be drinking any alcohol with it. As far as absorption goes I'm not sure, the sublingual bioavailability of benzos is already very high. I know the alcohol mix for bupe helps a decent amount but the BA for bupe is 30% sublingually and alcohol brings it up a few notches, I don't know if alcohol affects benzos at all, and the BA is already like 90%.
 
its pretty much pointless, oral and sublingual b/a are already extreamly high, just take it normally.
 
The only benzos worth doing under the tongue are lorazepam and clonazepam out of the commonly used ones. For the others you get top notch absorption just eating them.

^Agreed. I can only take clonazepam sublingually or else I get really confused and dysphoric. Same shit with lorazepam, my least favorite benzo! I've taken loprazolam and triazolam sublingually with great results, too. In large part, this depends on the lipid solubility of the particular benzo.

Xanax is best taken orally, trust me. Snorting it works, too, but after considering the drug-to-filler rate in terms of milligrams, I've since given up snorting any benzo that comes in a pill form.

i agree with bronson in the case that xanax is better of taken orally as it's around the 90% mark already.

people use the alcohol solution and sublingual drugs that have a considerably low BA, such as Buprenorphine (~30% )

if you're non tolerant than it's best to avoid the alcohol to potentiate it as you don't need to.

as this is a dosing question i'm going to move it to BDD

yup, not to mention they are the only ones that actually taste good
 
Of course CNS depression can be a dangerous factor, and I usually don't mix them, but last night I was out at a nice bar and had a strong cocktail (3 shots), then four or so 16oz heavy microbrew drafts and ate a 2mg generic xanax cause it happened to be in my pocket... and it really didn't do much to me, and I am a hypochondriac for sure, meaning I am careful what I am taking/drinking/mixing. But then again I have taken anywhere from 2mg - 9mg a day for about 3 months, so I guess it really depends on tolerance.

agreed,

benzos are one family of drug we dont need to worry to much about, we dont even really shoot them.....
 
Tried SNORTING 3mgs xanax (1 and 1/2 bars) tonight over a 1.5hour period while sober.. I blieve that snorting xanax is useless and almost makes it NOT work.. If you want your benzo's to work (especially XANAX) then just eat the damn pill on an empty stomach with a shot of vodka or a glass of sprite. I am so pissed i just wasted basically 2 bars and got almost NO effects cuz i snorted the damn things, and yes I was sober b4 I snorted the 3mgs of alprazolam.

Conclusion: Eat your xanax on an empty stomach. And if you want to potentiate (po·ten·ti·ate) it then have a couple shots/drinks with your benzo... just be careful.. CHEERS! (lol im ENGLISH! j/k


People that snort xanax are just stupid kids that have snorting fetishes from the old days of brand name OxyContin or whatever. And they do no research on the pills they take/snort. that is the main reason people snort benzo's, especially Xanax (alprazolam) in particular.. AGREED??????
 
i definitely prefer to take xanax sublingually over orally. it's not a matter of bioavailability, but rate of absorption. squirting alcohol under your tongue during the process is not necessary though.
