Rolling Alone?

you don't have to take it with a group. Yes it is good to do alone! i just listened to music and bluelighted for hours lol. i heard someone say something to the effect of: ecstasy isn't the special occasion, it makes the occasion special.

I would advise against rolling alone. MDMA's strongest effects are best enjoyed in a social setting. I rolled alone a few times, and regret it looking back on it. Ecstasy seems to be one of the most widely abused drugs there is, as at first it seems relatively benign.

From this point on I'll be limiting myself to 2-3 rolls a year maximum. More than that is just straight up bad for your brain, and I don't think anyone can seriously deny that.

Squeeze the most juice out of your ecstasy experiences, save it for something special....like say, an LSD trip with a friend :D

i find rolling alone is extremely therapeutic actually. when i roll with other people its a lot of fun but sometimes it leaves me feeling like i didnt really get anything out of it and the roll was wasted..

these days i use mdma exclusively for candy flipping, which i always do alone.

Right on, rolling alone is great :) Interacting with others is of course extremely enjoyable but for a therapeutic experience I think solo is the way to go.

Have you ever tried HBWR/MDMA together? I'd love to candyflip although I don't have any access to LSD.

MDMA is a drug - if 'you' want to make it a social experience or a private one then its your choice.

Rolling alone at home 'can' be a great and rewarding experience

Rolling with umpteen thousands of people at a rave 'can' be a great and rewarding experience.

I have rolled alone and also with thousands of people - I have enjoyed both experiences but in a different way.

Yeah your dancing in a field hundreds of people around you all wide eyed and grinning knocking out shapes to the sound OR your sitting alone in silence looking through a family album of dead parents remembering the smells, sounds etc.

Both totally different experiences but both still amazing!

I have not had any experience with ecstasy yet. However, I was wondering if anyone here has actually taken it by themselves, at home. MDMA and MDA are pretty much the ultimate "social drugs". Cannabis, acid, mushrooms, nitrous oxide... all of these can help improve social situations, but can also be greatly enjoyed alone. But people seem to think that ecstasy HAS to be taken in a group setting. Is this true? Would taking ecstasy at home, by yourself, be a bad idea and/or a waste?

I've heard that, if taken alone, you should focus on stimulating activities, such as taking a shower or bathing.

Thoughts? Experiences?

I'd like to something clarified... Are asking this because you just don't have the occasion to take it with people?
Because if you do have people you can roll with, then by all means, do it!

To answer your question, YES you can take it alone. MDMA is always a pleasurable experience, the euphoria WILL be there no matter what.

The lovey feelings and empathy will also manifest themselves even if your alone. You will connect with people you see on TV, for instance, or with mankind in general.

But it's also true that something will be missing, you'll wish you had people around you to share the experience with. So yes ultimately, it'll feel at least partially like a waste.

IMHO opinion, the best way to take MDMA is with people who are also rolling. The emotional synergy will be at its highest that way.

Also, don't forget that you only have a limited number of rolls (the infamous loss of magic). So, don't waste them...

Personally, I don't know anyone with whom I can roll. My friends are not interested in drugs and I'm not at all into the rave scene...
So up until now, I had to content myself with solitary rolls, often mixed with acid. But music and introspection make the experience worthwhile.

There is something to be said for rolling alone. IMO, everyone should try it at least once.

I know and appreciate where your coming from but I dont agree - MDMA isnt always a fun experience and there isnt 'always' euphoria when you take it. I have popped several times and the experience has neither been fun or euphroic. Set / setting plays a massive part in the experience :).

Do you not like to roll with non rollers? I often found the experience quite good fun - my friends were drinking/smoking hash - I was rolling. The vast differences in opinions and thoughs can be really good fun.

I think it probably has a lot to do with your basic personality too. I'm an extremely extroverted person and the idea of rolling alone is unappealing to me mainly because I know I'd be texting and calling people the whole time.

One of the last raves i was at I started rolling pretty early and none of my friends had showed up yet so I was texting people and wandering around making new friends. I'm personally not sure what I'd do with myself at home alone.

I rolled alone at my house recently, and even though it wasn't as enjoyable as rolling with other people, i still enjoyed it. Just bump some good ass music and sit back and enjoy the roll. Brush your teeth, it feels amaaaazing lol

I increasingly take MDMA alone. I do this for the following reasons:

1) The cliched behaviour becomes a little trying. Shirts off, declarations of love etc...
2) Always some fucker who doesn't even smoke insisting on someone walking with them in the freezing rain to get some smokes from the off licence.
3) When everyone can finally agree on music, minds are soon changed and it's rare a whole album is listened to.
4) Randoms are always showing up when word is out and sofas and chairs become a commodity.
5) People spilling ash and beer everywhere.

I don't know, maybe I'm just getting old.

Nah nah I'm 18 and that shit bugs me too. I only roll with certain people or in certain settings..

The synergy created between you and people you know well escalates the roll for me.

One time a party finished at my place and I was still rolling, and I immediately started talking to people online because I felt the NEED to be around others.

I've never tried it in a meditative atmosphere, but would find it interesting for self-introspection.

For a first time, I would recommend doing it in a quiet place with a person/people you are close to.

I've done it many times before. Just make sure u have something to do I.e video games, compter just something to keep u busy and make u forget your alone lol and as far as a bad trip? Or a waste? No not at all its more of a different experience when your alone you get more of a sense of yourself? Lol I dunno but its still fun as hell and not a waste.

interesting. I must try this sometime.

I've done it alone once, but I don't plan to ever again. It's not that it was bad, in fact I'm on the tail end of a really nice afterglow I've had since then, but it just seems like a waste to me. For neurotoxicity reasons you have to use MDMA sparingly and spaced out, as well as the whole "losing the magic" bit so effectively the number of times you can use MDMA is limited. Now I would much rather spend all of that time with other people because they just make it so much better an experience than doing it alone. Plus high dose MDMA+Cuddlebuddy=Most euphoric thing ever

Ugh, rolling alone is really lame most of the time. Ecstasy is an entactogen, so without a connection to someone, a lot of the fun of it is lost. It's meant to be taken with someone, imho. I've had a couple personal rolls that were alright. For example I think it's a lot of fun to take a long walk alone, especially on the comedown.
