Opioids Fentanyl Dosing/Question

I just acquired a 75mcg/hr fentanyl patch.... was wondering how dosing works with this.

If I divide the patch in half, would that mean each piece is ~37.5mcg/hr? Or if I divide it in 4 parts, each piece is ~18mcg/hr?

And if i'm "cheeking" these (using them buccaly, in my mouth between gums/cheek) how often can I redose? Give it an hour, then if it's not the desired strength, redose?


I've searched everywhere BL and Google, but haven't found any solid answers.

sucking on them will increase how much is thrown out so your dose calculations will be off. i've never been comfortable with giving out doses as, well, i have absolutely no information about you. wish i could help ya more bud. start low and work up.

I was checking my Duragesic Matrix patcthes and a 100mcg patch has 16.8mg in it. That gives you an extra 6.2mg per patch.

You can't just say "smoke it on some tin foil"...
In true harm reduction fashion, you should give him advice on how to dose correctly.

I suggest you take a small chuck of the goo, maybe half the size of a match head and vaporize it off of the tin foil. Also, use the search engine provided inside of Bluelight and you will surely find safe methods of dosing this fentanyl.

I have found the same problem as many when they try to find dosing questions oe charts that show equal conversion chart using different ROA's of fent. The best answers I have found all at one website. thatspoppycock.com

If you're gonna do it: freeze the patch in the freezer. Take out and cut into small squares (10 even squares, 7.5mg/10 = 750mcg per square)

You might want to start with half a square. Or less. And put it under your tongue. The gel will heat up and dissolve and go into your bloodstream. Best way to dose those without shooting or smoking. And of course swallowing renders it ineffective. I guess you could also put between your gum and cheek.

I use 100mcg Duragesic Matrix patches buccally. II cut them into 1/4 pieces and I put in my mouth the 2 1/4 patches buccally, and then I throw out the 2 1/4 pieces. Is there still medication left in the patch after 2 hours? what is the best way to save the pieces? How long will the pieces last for? Would parchment paper work as a place to put the patches on?

I have no idea about parchment paper but speaking from extensive experience when it comes to fentanyl patches (both gel and matrix; and all different strengths and sizes) and what best to store them on between uses....

The very best thing to store the patch on is the silver side of the pouch which the patch originally came in.
