SWIM picked up this cactus on his way home and asked me to identify it. I believe it's San Pedro. Can anybody confirm?

it looks a bit different than my pedros...seems to have larger spines and more pronounced valleys...but to be honest, the only thing I am going off of is comparing that pic against my cacti. There's probably better versed opinions here that will chime in soon. I would not rush into eating it tho until you have a more definitive i.d.

There are lot more bunched up where this one was found, and some were darker green with thicker valleys. Could it be that this one is too young? I was looking around and the san pedro does seem to be thicker. Well there aren't a lot of cactus that are shaped in this manner, I believe, so it should contain some sort of psychedelic alkaloid besides Mescaline.

Really hope someone experienced can shed some light on the subject.

Here's some more pics:

totally wrong.

There are more cacti shaped like that then you can shake a stick at.

Most cacti do NOT contain psychedelic alkaloids.

Don't eat that shit. The star shape should be rounder, skin should be darker, could be San Pedro, but I wouldnt try it.
