Smoked so much weed my lungs are bleeding?

Hello,

I have been blazing for years. Joints, Bongs, Blunts, Vapos, pipes, you name it. Rarely, do i smoke tobacco (besides the blunts). Probably about 10 years now blazing. Sometimes I have took a day or 2 break, but lately I can't remember the last time I haven't not smoked in awhile.

So right now i took a huge bong rip. It was so big and harsh, I was immediately choking, gagging, spitting up. Went to the bathroom and had a coughing fit for like 5 mins, but I was coughing up a pretty fair amount of blood. More than ever before. I would say about 6 months ago, I was coughing up tiny amounts here and there, but thought it was just from coughing too hard.

Now I am kind of spooked. Should I never smoke again? For the most part, especially lately I have been using my volcano vaporizer the majority of the time, but I am guessing that I shouldn't even use that after what just happened.

So has anyone ever taken a rip so big that they were coughing and spitting up blood? or am I the exception?

Will I be able to blaze again? Should I take a break? Will I be cool for a rave event I am attending tomorrow night?

Needless to say, after that bong rip, I am not smoking tonight anymore. I should probably take a break, but am not sure how long that will last.

Just seeing if anyone else has had anything similar or not
 
if you're coughing up blood, that's usually a sign of a much worse problem. only a doc can tell you for sure though.

but definitely do not smoke anything until you go to the doctor
 
I've coughed up blood/black shit several times in the past year. I never thought much of it, most recent time was maybe 2 weeks ago. Coughed up a bunch of blood and tar in the middle of class (Ew)
 
Ive had mates say the same but they were mostly smoking cigs.

Should see the doctor though just incase.
 
If your coughing up blood, that means bloods getting into your throat/lungs/whatever. And to me that shit sounds fucked up. I've coughed up huuuge chunks of resin and stuff, but never blood. I Think thats what it'd take to scare me off from toking lol
 
you should be callin a doc up ASAP. It wasn't the herb either, you been smokin something else or railing other drugs?

Nah, no railing of substances (last time was over a year ago) and I do roll occasionally, but not recently

I dunno, i still didn't go to the Dr. yet, but I haven't coughed up any blood either since that bong rip last night. If I do cough, it is just some clear or yellow muscus. I think it was just a massive rip and it was out of a new illadelph heavy hitter, so maybe I just milked it too hard and it cleared way too fast causing me to rupture a blood vessel. If I cough up anymore though, or if I don't feel good then I will go to the Dr. And I only smoke herb, no k2 or tobacco, but I guess maybe I should give myself a break for a little bit from the herb.
 
Coughing up a small amount happens if you smoke alot of cigs and pot but that much sounds bad..

Rupturing a blood vessel in your lungs? Plus, if you did so, you would not have stopped coughing up blood in the manner you described. Since you appear to have a pretty clear drug use pattern I'm going to go ahead and say that this isn't cannabis related and any more help can only come from trained doctors who will see you in person. Let's hope this was just one incident where you coughed up some tar and mucus and confused it for blood.
 
Go see a doctor ASAP. You might have a collapsed lung. Tobacco and cannabis smokers can get them.

Be honest with the doctor about smoking and if you use other drugs. You can't get in legal trouble and legally they are not allowed to tell anyone what you said to them based on HIPA laws and doctor/patient confidentiality.

I've vomited up blood before, not a lot but it was still scary and it happened when I had a horrible stomach virus where I was puking a lot.
 
wut. coughin up blood? damn, get that shit checked out. time to put the paranoia aside and put ur body first. do what u gotta do.
 
riiiight, because a doctor has the magical ability to see right inside a person and spot a wound! 8)

unless it's something a stethoscope can determine, which it probably won't if he felt fine later, then there's really nothing a GP can do except request further testing.

if you can breathe fine it's probably tracheal bleeding, not coming from your lungs.
 
no, but a doctor does have the magic ability to run tests and make sure it's not a serious issue
 
It can be as worse as having lung cancer and you don't know. We don't know, no one here knows for sure. We can keep guessing but what will that do? You'll convince yourself you have one of the problems people listed or have nothing. Get diagnosed ASAP. You shouldn't be scared of a doctor, a doctor can't do anything about your weed habits and probably doesn't care either so go now! You have nothing to lose by doing so, infact you may even have a longer life span with the medication.
 
Ok, since most the posts request I see a Dr., I will make a appointment tomorrow after work and let him know what happened. Maybe he can do some x rays or something to make sure its all good. But I will do it tomorrow and I will let you guys know what they say
