Rx'd Amitriptylin 25mg 1x daily, how will this effect opiate usage?

Nightly I'm scripted:

1mg Kpin
25mg Amitriptylin (new -- used for neuralgic pain, not depression, low dose)

And I take 7.5mg valium (taper off xanax, been a long 4 months..)

On occasion I take opiates, DHC or vicodin usually. Into the upper ranges (DHC 300mg, vicodin 80-100mg)

Is the amitriptylin going to mess with that?

It should enhance opiates. You are good with the opiates you are on.

Yeah, Amitriptylin can enhance the sedation.

i don't think it would have much of an additional effect with the opiates you mentioned except for maybe increased sedation. you'll have to pay attention to what your body tells you cuz everybody is different. ime i don't notice anything in particular out of the ordinary when taken together.

25mg dose helps you get restful restorative sleep w/ out the side effects of higher doses that would be Rxd for depression.
i've prob tried 8-10 diff sleep meds before my doc suggested amitriptylin and it by far has the least side effects and the best results for me. i take 25mg about 2 to 3 hours before i want to go to sleep, dose my pain meds when i get in the bed and i've been getting better sleep than i have for years.
