So I'm seeing this girl, before she met me she'd never even been fingered by anyone else.
The first time I did it at a moderate pace but didn't finger her for very long. The second time, I did intermittently it for over an hour but not particularly fast or hard, and afterwards she was "sore" there for a few days, though she was fine at the time. She even said it was painful to walk. Spend more time rubbing the outside than jamming your fingers inside. Also, stick with one finger when you do penetrate, and don't penetrate deep. That should be obvious.

I mostly do this, but she was fine with two fingers the first time and says that's what she uses herself. It was never particularly deep.
 
But she has control and knows what to do and what not to do with her two fingers. If she's getting that sore when you do it, then you need to try something different.

Yeah, focus on the outside for a while before you even think about fingering her and when you finally do, start with one finger unless she asks for more. Ask her to tell you what you're doing that feels good so you can now what to do and what not to do next time. Finally, if it just plain hurts no matter what, use some lube. You can fit a barrel into a bullet hole if you have enough lube (well, not really, but you get the idea :P).

if she's properly wet, then you're going way too hard. if she's not properly wet then you're applying a lot of friction to a very sensitive area, so you really need to use lube. this will immensely increase her enjoyment too,.

i think you really need to get feedback from her AT THE TIME, or as others suggested, watch her masturbate.
