Opioids Side Effect or Something Else?

So.. I've been using high doses Oxycodone (mainly orally), and Hydromorphone (intranasally).

Anyway, I keep having this constant saliva problem (lots of drooling) and what not, and I do have quite an opiate tolerance. I also notice that my legs start to tremor a little bit when I stand up as well.

I should mention that just about everytime I dose opiates, I take 50mg of diphenhydramine about 5-10 mins before, so I am wondering if this has anything to do with it?

I am also on Lyrica (Pregabalin) and I end up taking doses usually around 450mg to 600mg a day. (More than my prescribed dosage).

Can anyone help me out, or does this happen to anyone else? Excessive Salivation?

From my experience, I've noticed that Benadryl aggravates the RLS (Restless Leg Syndrome) effect that opiates give people.

As for the salivating, I got no idea on that. It could just be you as I've never heard of such a problem. Are you smoking cigarettes while using your opiates. I ask because when I smoke I tend to salivate a lot more than if I wasn't.
 
Does this occur while you are high, in between highs, or all the time?
 
This is odd... opioids more commonly cause dry mouth then excessive salivation and anticholinergics such as diph certainly cause dry mouth as well. I used to take opioids such as oxy with lyrica and anticholinergics (doxylamine or hydroxyzine usually) very frequently and never experienced this.

Hopefully we can get a little more illumination here.

Yes I am smoking quite a bit more than usual, but I smoke more when I am high.

doxylamine - in your opinion C2L, does this work better than diphenhydramine for potentiation or about the same? I know hydroxyzine is the best and my favourite antihistamine by far, but it is not OTC and I currently don't have access to it.
 
I salivate a lot before I vomit and I used to vomit alot on opiates, could this be whats happening? It was just a guess, thats the only time I salivate a lot.
 
^^that was my guess too, are you high enough that youre close to puking?? thats the only time ive ever heard of anybody over salivating.

ell I guess when I very started to do Oxycodone and would make me vomit because I would always go overboard but either 15-20mg.

So out of this current situation nausea is not really an issue.

One other strange side effect is that I get extremely blurry vision, and sometimes I even seeing double. Then now that I think about it, High dosages of Pregabalin could be the culprit for double vision and blurred vision, I remember taking Pregabalin *Lyrica in high doages of 600mlg+ and then having my vision impaired hours later.

I greatly prefer doxylamine to diphenhydramine for potentiation. Doxylamine is more sedating and doesn't produce the uncomfortable restlessness and as bad of dry-mouth for me as diphenhydramine. Although I find neither euphoric in the least alone, I feel doxylamine does enhance the opioid euphoria as well as analgesia while diphenhydramine in equivalent doses makes it feel dirtier.

Also diplopia (double vision) is very common on those doses of lyrica.
 
Dude you nailed it. Im on 450mg Lyrica/day (and often I take 600mg) and insufflate great quality heroin. Every time I nod out, if my head's not tilted back, I wake up having drooled. IDK if our problems are related, but it seems kinda coincidental, don't you? I also have no explanation, though.

As for your RLS, I can't comment. Lyrica relaxes my body so I never really get RLS symptoms ever - and I detest the way diphenhydramine makes me feel. Sorry I can't provide anything on that.

Good luck with it... I know that IF I ever get something resembling RLS I take Restoril (temazepam) and its gone, but this can be dangerous - combining a sedative/hypnotic benzodiazepine with high doses of oxy/dillies, so I wouldn't really recommend it.
