concerta overdose - respond quickly please

Is it possible to OD on Concerta. Right now my friend is on it. He took 1 63mg at 3pm. At 5 pm he took off the time release of another 63mg and ingested it. This is his first time on it with no tolerance. He is complaining of a steady fast heart beat. I am just worried that taking off the time release coupled with already have taken 1 63mg can hurt him. Am I just trippin or is his dose fine. Thank you
 
YES it is possible to OD on Concerta, can OD on anything for that matter.

I'm sure he'll be fine, just tell him to lay down or relax. That way he doesn't add any more stress on his heart.

That is a pretty high dose for having no tolerance, it may be unpleasant but he'll be alright.
 
You're all right hes fine now. Anyone know what time he'll be able tp sleep with that dose? He dosed at 3pm

In your first post you said he dosed at 3PM and again at 5PM.

I'd assume he's gonna have an increased heart rate till at least midnight maybe later. He won't be high, and his heart won't be racing like it was but it'll still probably be fast or hard enough that it keeps him awake even if he's tired.

Do you have anything to help him sleep? Benzo, seroquel, benadryl, nyquil? Anything like that will definitely help him out.

Benzo gonna be your best bet though cuz it'll also help calm the heart.
xanax, valium, klonopin, ativan and other... can you get any?

Concerta is time released methylphenidate, it lasts quite a bit longer than instant release methylphenidate.

AFAIK, there is no 63mg Concerta pill. There is a 36mg pill though. I believe the highest dose in a single pill of Concerta is 54mg.

I don't think he has to worry about ODing, even if he took 126mg of Concerta. I always found methylphenidate to produce significant anxiety, more so than other common stimulants. try to get him to just calm down a little bit, reassure him he is in no danger. He probably won't sleep tonight though, Concerta is long lasting IME.
 
Stirfry is on the money. 54mg is max. 1 Pill + the coating of another is not a large enough dose to be lethal. Deep breathing, oh and find something to clean, at least your parents will be happy. Peace. FTW. ARM.
 
you guys need to do your research.

Concerta comes in 18, 27, 36, 45, 54, 63 and 72mg capsules.

Concerta 63mg is 14mg methylphenidate released 3 times a day. if you disable the time release mechanism you receive 42mg methylphenidate. teens and adults can take up to 72mg methylphenidate a day.

you do realize that the 72mg picture has two 36mg pills in it? It is a total dose, not from just one pill.

lol I just chew em up....works like a charm :) the effect to me is like speed and mda with a nasty/dirty crash. I have taken atleast 8 54mg pills in one night. :)
 
i usually do 5 -7 36mg pills over a 12 - 16 hour period. (i peel 'em, crush 'em, and snort 'em tho.)
the comedown is usually when i get paranoid anxiety and my heart races. laying down with comfy blankets and pillows, an ice pack on the forehead or a heating pad on the back, along with some lorazepam and/or robitussin always helps. oh, and soup/food if you havent eaten for a while... i usually forget to eat on concerta binges.

hey to anyone reading this I have some questions that need answering I have 2 silver alza 27 and I want to know the best way to break em down so I can snort em I read on bl previously on how to break them down but the forums weren't for the 27 mg and I want to know wich of the three parts of the 27 I should take cuse on the ones I have have three colors a white, pink and another color that I can describe as a brown green any helpfull knowledge is appreciated.
