I have been using heroin for the past 2 weeks everyday or so and i hate the withdrawls i get, no sleep, hot or cold flashes, and all that type of shit. I can get 8mg suboxens tommorow. Wil ltaking 2mg a day for a few days help with all the withdrawl symptoms and when i stop the suboxen will the withdrawls be gone?

i have never detoxed with suboxone. i know it will help (if not completely) get rid of your withdrawals. as far as doseing and stuff like that i cant help you. check the mega thread? UTFSE?

i dont know what UTFSE means, im pretty sure the subs will take away most if not all the symtpoms since the W/D wont be that bad, but my question is mainly after im done takin the suboxen, the withdrawl from heroin will be gone right?

well if you are dependent on opiates, when you stop suboxone you will still have to go through w/d's.. there's really no way to avoid it. unless you switch to subs and taper perfectly to the right low dose and stop and get very little w/d's.
but i would say that once you're addicted to opiates no matter which opiate you're taking, when you stop you will have w/d's no matter how severe or subtle.

yeah heroin w/d will be gone, but you will have suboxone w/d to deal with.

no im not depdent on opaites, ill just have withdrawl from a week, 2 week binge and i hate going through it
all my withdrawls in the past have lasted 4 days at the most

In my experience, taking suboxone for 2-3 days at low doses will greatly reduce the withdrawal symptoms.

The important thing is to wait until you are in withdrawal to take the suboxone. Taking it too soon after an opiate such as heroin will result in precipitated withdrawal.

2mgs should be enough to hold you on the first day or so. After the first dose, you should be fine for the next 24hrs or so since suboxone has a very long half-life. Once you feel withdrawals again, take 1mg. Repeat this while reducing your dose. You should not take the suboxone for more than 3 or 4 days or you will become dependent on that as well.

if your having withdrawals your body has become opiate dependant, reguardless of what you think. i PERSONALLY think the best thing to taper on is methadone as long as you get off it quickly. you get to slowly bring yourself down, and the high can be somewhat enjoyable.

it all depends on how long you are going to take suboxone to determine whether it's a good idea to take them or just w/d from heroin.. i would take 4 day H w/d over the long suboxone w/d's. i would say if you are going to take suboxone than take:
days 1&2- 2mg
days 3&4- 1mg
days 5&6 - .5mg
day 7- nothing.. so it would be a week taper and i think that would help you get minimal w/d's.

well its not like i NEED it or WANT it, it was a binge and stuff. but the other person, yeh thats what i was planning on doing. but i cant get methadone only subs. and i only do opiates every once in a long while and when i do i binge n i usually withdrawl. so im expecting some minor withdrawl tommorw n next couple days so i was just wondering how much the subs will help. seems like its the best option.

After only a 2 week binge your wd's should be so minor Id just do it cold turkey. Sure, you wont feel great, but it shouldnt be too bad if you've only been on it for 2 weeks(if you get them at all)

completely depends on your tolerence level. if your taking 1000+mg of oxy... shooting fent... shooting grams of dope a day... you can expect a hell of a backlash IMO.

GENERALLY,If you're taking that much you've been on a much longer binge than 2 weeks, thus making you opiate dependent already.... or you're dead.

thats not the case. if you have had a habbit, come off, and then picked back up again your tolerence could easily bounce back within a matter of days.

Which is why I said generally, as in the vast majority of the time. Instead of being argumentative why dont you offer this man your own solution. He already said he couldn't do the methadone thing you suggested, so instead of critiquing my advice with your semantics and rare situations you should probably focus on helping him find another solution.

i already gave him my advice. i told him that suboxone will knock out his withdrawals. i told him i cant give him dose information for a taper (i never give anyone dose information as a general rule) i told him i personally feel that methadone is the best thing to taper with as long as you come off it quickly. you actually get an enjoyable high out of the deal (IMO)

Well I'd have to say I agree with you for the most part. But I think the fact that methadone gives you an enjoyable high makes it more dangerous to taper with(if you want to get clean that is). I still think his habit is light enough to where he could get away with CT and not be that bad, but I could be wrong and it could be one of those rare situations where you described where his tolerance is high. I dont think tis very likely though

his tolerence probably is not so bad. he does not realize that his body going into withdrawals means it is dependent. that to me says hes still a rookie... or not very well informed.

Given that this was a relatively short binge, I would suggest just talking 2mgs of suboxone once. You should be fine after that.
