the official B(ullshit) Championship Rankings are almost upon us rabid college football fans.

the projected BCS Top 10 is as follows:

1. Boise State
2. Oregon
3. TCU
4. Oklahoma
5. tOSU
6. LSU
7. Nebraska
8. Auburn
9. Michigan State
10. Alabama

I know these aren't official, but I think that the BCS is doing a terrible job in their projected rankings.

who has Boise State actually played? you can't count there win over Virginia Tech because they lost to lowly Divison 2 James Madison. is Oregon State even in the AP Top 25 anymore?!

I think the only team that Oregon beat with a winning record has been Stanford.

concerning the Big XII, I think that Nebraska should be ranked higher than Oklahoma due to the way they've been winning and due to the teams they have played.

I really can't put much stock in Auburn either, they barely beat a bad Kentucky team.

I think it would be fun for each of us to chip in and say who WE would put in our Top 5, or Top 10 if you want to venture even further.

at this point in my college football fandom, I would say that most of the participants in S&G have just as much clout as the Bullshit Championship Series rankings.

so lets have em!

my Top 10:

1. Ohio State
2. Nebraska
3. LSU
4. Oregon
5. Boise State
6. Michigan State
7. Oklahoma
8. Auburn
9. TCU
10. Alabama

subject to change if I hear some good arguments. remember this is just for fun, so check hostility at the door.

it is going to be great seeing what you all have to say, due to us all being college football fans from all corners of the US

I'm sort of out of the loop with NCAA football this year, but i'll throw together a 1/2 assed top 10 based off my below modest observations, for the hell of it.

1.Oregon
2. Nebraska
3. Oklahoma
4. Ohio State
5. Michigan State
6. Boise State
7. LSU
8. Auburn
9. Alabama
10. Iowa

it would be great if Ohio State, Nebraska, Boise State and Oregon all go undefeated. nothing would be better than having four undefeated teams all with legitimate claims on the National Championship. having even more than four teams would make it even better, because I am sadistic and I want to see the BCS crumble in a state of confusion.

it would also be great if the Nation was subjected to an OSU VS Nebraska National Championship. it would be enjoyable to see a preview of Nebraska joining the Big Ten. can you imagine the hype that would then follow the year after when the Buckeyes visit Lincoln, Nebraska?

man, just thinking about how terrible the Big XII would be without Nebraska this year. they might be fine in the long haul if Texas can start playing rough and tumble football again... but eek!

Hmm this is all off the top of my head..

1. Alabama: Yea they just lost, but to a SC team that was ON fire playing the #1 team in the country. I still think that on any given day Alabama has the best chances of winning against any team. I think because they lost they should not go to the NC game, but this is top 5, not top 5 that should go to NC game.

2. Oregon: Quality wins over Stanford, ASU, and Tenn. Pretty tough schedule ahead..if they can go undefeated I think they will have earned it.

3. Oklahoma: Maybe some homerism coming into play here. Have had to play some stiff competition in FSU and AFA. Texas is down, but still a team full of 4 and 5 stars, and Cinn may be down, but they are always gunning for us because we always have close games with them. They have a pretty tough road ahead where they will have the chance to prove themselves.

4. Ohio State: Looks like a good all around team, but have not yet had a chance to really prove their mettle. Sadly, a conference championship game win would put them into the NC if they were undefeated. Too bad the Big10 doesn't have one yet. Playing Wisc. and Iowa is nice, but IMO the SOS does not match up with the other teams in the bracket.

5. Nebraska: Looking good, but KSU and UW are not exactly the cream of the crop. They also have a tough road ahead where they will have the chance to prove themselves.

Sorry BSU and TCU, you would come right after, but I just can't justify putting them ahead of these other teams.

it sucks that the Big 10 doesn't have a conference championship yet, at least that will change when Nebraska joins in on the fun.

it is so much easier being in your shoes, Oklahoma and Nebraska fans. you both should be ranked in the Top 5ish, but as soon as you play in the conference championship, you know where you stand.

if two Top 5 teams play at the end of the season, it is just silly if you don't include them in the National Championship.

I wish Ohio State had a set up like this in the past years, for two reasons:

a) not just being a homer, but I'm usually confident in OSU's level of talent, consistently over the years of college football's history. I feel like a conference championship would give the Buckeyes a chance to peak at the end of the season. it would also close the extremely large gap of their schedules then to the NC bowl. this would be priceless for their overall successes

b) since OSU is usually floating under the Top 10 all year, sometimes the BCS just gets confused, then heavily relies on a team like the Buckeyes and picks them. it would be nice to know when the team truly deserves to be in the BCS Championship... or lets just say the Rose Bowl. case in point the LSU game

for these reasons, I am welcoming in the very-solid-this-year Nebraska Cornhuskers, with open arsm

yeah it really messed everything all up. I was really hoping for a BAMA/OSU National Championship. don't know why though, because the chances of OSU winning would be the highest in comparison to most teams. while BAMA might still be the best football team, despite having a one dimensional offense attack; if you shut down their RBs you win. that's why college football gets on my nerves, lose once and you are probably out of the NC picture.

we were all shocked here when Boise State was ranked like third in the AP/Coaches Poll. but now we are going to be even more shocked when they are ranked first in the BCS standings
