Hey,
We all know that there are certain rules that must be followed on this website. On top of those rules I think its important that we keep as much personal information as we can off of this website. Recently I was contacted by a person under the alias ' Jacob' he proposed a meet up and mentioned some places in my home town that I have briefly mentioned here on bluelight. Aster just one message it was painfully apparent that he was an undercover cop. He was 'looking for drugs' as he put it...the point of this is to make you all aware that the danger of these guys its real.

mods im sorry if this is breaking any rules. I'm just trying to make sure my fellow harm reducers don't fall victim to anything like this.

Thanks for the info :) Thats definitely a good reminder to everyone that LE does indeed keep an eye out here and to not incriminate yourself!
 
How can you tell if someones a cop? I have been on email with a few guys from here but I feel paranoid as to whether they might be undercover cops..
 
^There isn't any guaranteed way to know. Be wary of people who contact you without any particular reason, not just because they might be law enforcement but also because you have no idea what they are really up to. If you meet anybody that you know only from the internet without much data about them you should meet them in a public place, and not have contraband on your person. If someone PMed me today that I have had no prior contact with looking for an immediate meetup I'd have to put them off. Just as you are encouraged to be stingy with personally identifying info in posts I'd advise against sharing it with correspondents until you have a good feel for what sort of character they are.

Longer term members have a feel for who the other long term members are or know people to have trusted folks to ask about mutual contacts. Until you've really gotten a feel for the community I'd be very cautious, especially about people contacting you out of the blue.

Personally I only know 2 bl'ers that I really trust or would even hang out with.

whenever i meet people from this site, i do so in a common, public place. or i know they are people well known by other members, like enki mentioned. and i don't tell random bluelighters more details than what they need to know.

you should be weary of people: who only want to talk about what drugs you can give/sell them; who want to meet up ASAP; people who are persistent about meeting up when you are not; people who want exact details of all your plans; who ask for personal info like your address.
 
I've met up and partied with 4 BLers.. been fucking one of them on/off over the past year and a half.. nothing bad has happened.. I wouldn't do it anymore just because of seeing shit go down, people being setup by people who they thought were friends, not even random strangers from the net..

Zactly what i was thinkin at that very moment.
Though i would like to try a few drugs,mostly that suboxone i think its called to see if itwould help me ,i dont think i would be tryin to get set up on here ,or have someone try and set me up ...
 
Couple of guys sent me links to online vendors, saying theyre 'legit' - but it might be best not to use em, I think.
Is there any thread abt the risks [or otherwise] of these online vendors? [I searched, didnt find any]

Please forward those PMs with links to a vendor to a Sr mod. That is against the sourcing policy and its also spam, those people are exploiting their BL membership and need to be dealt with. Those vendors are probably not legit.

Here is the staff contact list Sr mods are all listed there, 2nd group from the top, any of them will be able to take action on people spamming or sourcing through PMs.

Sort of the same thing ..... a worry nevertheless!
Just recently been noticing that the pages on BL down load way slower than any other site been looking at. Could it be that when going to BL the info is being tracked by a third party? Completely not computer literate but very sus (although not yet paranoid) *_*
Shame about the other stuff re trust. This one really needed some help in person recently and probably could have saved a lot of time and energy and RISK if they had been able to talk something through ;_;

:| Thats been happening for me again lately too. It was behaving for a while, but it seems to have started up again in full force... But theres already a thread about that so if anyone else is having that same problem, lets stop derailing this one and post there ;)
