I am currently taking an anti-psychotic called geodon and im wondering if it possibly is decreasing the effects of the lsd i have taken in the past, because usually the acid i take doesnt do much to me but my friends who take it will trip like a normal acid trip would be like, so im wondering if its the geodon. anybody have any help?

Anti-psychotic medications end trips completely. I don't know anything about Geodon really so I can't comment though. ^Why would you say he shouldn't take LSD(I assume you assume he has a mental disorder and thats why hes prescribed Geodon although its prescribed for various reasons).

Seeing as geodon is often prescribed to help with symptoms of schizophrenia, I would almost be certain that it would work against the effects of LSD. But if you are on geodon, you might want to tread lightly working with psychedelics in the first place. I know a few people diagnosed with schizophrenia who have worked with certain psychedelics to their advantage over time (surprisingly dmt with one person), but I've definitely known more (especially having been a behavioral health counselor) who have had LSD eventually lead (in part at least) to an exacerbation of their symptoms, and for one friend, I've seen him land himself in the e.r. 3 different times due to issues brought out from tripping. I'm actually wondering if some of the 2C's might be a better choice for you to work with due to a less profound "mindfuck" feeling...something to look into if you are certain you want to be working with psychedelics.

I actually read up a little just now on geodon withdrawal symptoms, and they don't seem to be very easy to go through so I wouldn't advice stopping your medication to take LSD. I even read a couple of people saying that even missing one day's worth left them agitated at night and unable to sleep. Everyone is different though, so if you know your reaction to coming off geodon is different, then you might consider it I guess.

Whatever you decide to do though, best of luck to you.

i think you need to have a long talk with your doctor (who prescribed the antipsychotic) and you need to consider what is best for your life right now. if you honestly believe that tripping on LSD can help you out in a truly positive way, then maybe you should ask your doctor if you can taper down your usage of the antipsychotic GRADUALLY, and maybe stop using it entirely. once you are stabilized without the medication (and you have a solid safety net of supportive friends and family to help you through whatever struggles you may face in life), THEN you can think about maybe tripping on some LSD. but be sure to start VERY LOW, as you will not know how your body and mind will react to the catalytic changes that LSD can cause.

peace, love, and good luck!

Although I agree that 2C-x's have less "mindfuck", I would probably not recommend those either because of their amphetamine like mental effects.

You might be right for most of the 2Cs in that regard now that you mention it. Probably 2C-C or 2C-B would be the best of the bunch in terms of softer experiences still though. And I'm not really recommending the OP take anything, just saying if the decision is made to take a psychedelic, there's a handful much gentler options than LSD.

thank you to everyone who replied to this I honestly always thought that when a missed a day or two of taking my geodon that i was actually crazy and geodon was what was keeping me sane but maybe it was just the withdraw, so i will have a discussion with my med doctor and try to get slowly taken off them and see how it goes.

Yea anti-psychotics cancel out almost 99% of the positive effects from LSD. Years ago I was on Zyprexa and acid barely had an impact on me during that time.... all my friends were crawling the walls off the same hits but it barely touched me
