Those into psychedelics will probably get a kick out of this.

Now, if you want a really harmless way to mess with friends' heads while tripping, set up a session at a place that gets National Geographic channel for oh, say 6pm this Sunday or some other time when this repeats... then after you are peaking at 8pm, kinda randomly turn on the TV and just HAPPEN to flip by the Nat. Geog. channel while THIS is on, Carefully observe and notate the reactions, then report them to your alien overlords... HEHE!

Unfucking real! I'm sober and that is messing with my head - my first reaction was, that's fake right??? I've never seen anything like that - awesome.

^ Yeah. I was wondering about why they had hazmat suits on. Toxic gases or something? Cool pictures.:)
 
Yea, this isnt anything new actually...they did a special on this exact same place about a year ago...i remember it well. The reason they are wearing those suits is yes, because of dangerous gasses....but believe it or not, its like super fucking hot down there so they can only spend a small amount of time there, and then they have to go back to this place with like an AC unit or somehting to cool down again. They work in shifts I think.....switching off. If I remember correctly it gets up to like 120 degrees F.
 
i went to carlsbad caverns and it was absolutely amazing to be 750 feet under the earth and on lsd. I kept saying " I dont understand any of this" lol. It was fun and amazing. good times.

It's mostly I think to protect them from the extreme temperatures, although I am sure there are other reasons as well. I've seen a previous documentary on these same caverns, just not as far deep as this documentary is supposed to take us. Looks awesome. If I'm not camping tomorrow night, I am definitely tuning in to see this.

The Fortress of Solitude! YES! I knew it reminded me of something... EXACTLY! They better be careful what they touch, or they might activate something, and all the crystals could start glowing and sliding and energizing and, like, destroy the planet or something. Yikes!
 
Absolutely awesome! Anybody knows where these caves are?? And if they will ever be accessible to the public?
 
^Absolutely not. Accessible by one elevator shaft inside an operating mine, I believe... extremely delicate... temps well above survivable or even breathable levels, requiring special "ice suits" and respirators filled with ice, and even then navigable for only very short periods of time.

You can probably dig around at the link in first post, or google "giant crystal caves" and find out where they are, though.
 
I would love to have been or seen the very first mine-workers to discover the chamber, shine their lights around, going "H O L Y ... F U C K I N G ... S H I T !!! Are we dreaming or something ?!?!" Just imaging and pretending that moment in my mind is quite fun.

Even though it wouldn't be possible due to the environment and its depth, but imagine you were a Mayan or something and just stumbled upon this. In today's day and age this is mind blowing.

MODS: is it possible to fix the date in the "Psychedelic" Area's list of topic names? I did and advanced edit of the first post, which fixed the topic title when actually in the thread, but in the list of all topics it still shows as Oct 8, should be 10. Thanks.
