Making a psychedelic bedroom.

Idea: a psychedelic "trophy cabinet".

Each time you have a distinctly profound trip, bring home a memento. If this isn't possible, or if you can't find anything relevant, go and find an object / knick-knack that matches a motif encountered during that trip. Then, you can remind yourself of all you have learned when you see it :)

Not really a trip toy, but it could serve as an anchor should you ever find yourself adrift.

Hell yes. This always happens, usually the object being a leaf.
Are you comparing it to a totem like from Inception? Haha, I usually write notes to myself during the come-up and those also serve as my momentos (it was even in my dream the night of the trip). Notes are better as guides than anchors though.

I agree with the decorate while tripping, and to keep with other ideas in this thread, hows about this, cover the walls with the white paper that comes on those huge rolls like you see in art classes at schools and stuff, put the strips verticle and only attach them at the top, that way you can roll them up and tie them off when you are not tripping and your room will look almost normal except for a little border around the top....

You can also then layer these strips and have multiple environments to trip in, you could also mix and match pannels which would probably be cool.

I advise against having too much lighting, sometimes even just a single blacklight can be to bright, so make sure your lighting effects use indirect lighting to keep it comfortably dim. (for example, place a blacklight under your bed so that the floor around your bed is directly lit by it, but the room is indirectly lit by the reflection of the blacklight off the floor)

those holiday lights that come in clear tubing that have multiple settings are always fun to string around the room in unexpected places...

I like crazy paintings or posters all over the ceiling as well, my old room had a few and it made for some interesting times laying in bed wandering around my brain.

Go to spencer's gifts, they have everything you need; strobe light, black light, infinity mirror, color-changing lamps with remotes, uv posters, uv paint. Tie-dyeing sheets and hanging them could be cool, or you could like put a fan behind a tie-dye sheet and make it ripple. I imagine fans on their own would be cool too with wind blowing around the room and creating strange sensations. A decent speaker system also. You might also get some blankets with weird textures, like really soft, felt, courderouy (sp?), rough, etc. Those are really fun on dxm ;) . I could probably go on and on.

Laserpod, Sauce, and a stringwave. my essential trip toys/eye candy

Years back, on this very website, I learned of a cool toy. I'm not sure if they still make them, and they are expensive, but it was worth the 90$ I spent. Maybe they are even more improved now, I'll have to look. But get a laserpod.

It is basically 3 red lasers and a blue LED which shine into a slowly rotating crystal. The effect is, many projected bits of laser points and angles, some 2-d shapes forming, and a smoky/cloudy looking blue light. You can put a dome over it (came with 2 different shapes) to capture all the cool designs right on there, or let it project on a ceiling (which is how I set it). Also the blue light can be turned off, so more dim but intricate red laser details are seen. It also comes with a glass distorter thing, which makes the laser patterns dance in a very cool way, but this works best only with a dome on.

Also, this cheap 6$ thing I bought at walmart long ago, called "sauce" is a very cool trip toy. Its like a small flashlight with 3 led lights, with a translucent covering. The 3 primary colors combine in ways to make a constant shifting of color, or they can all flash at once making white. I need to buy a new one since mine broke.

I have a string wave making machine which is also badass. It shines different frequency-pulsed light on a string which is made into a wave.. can be custom tuned or on demo mode. amazes me even sober. haven't tried when tripping but will soon! I forget the name of this thing but pretty sure it came from spencers.

they sell these things that you are supposed to hang on the window and the light coming through will make a rainbow on your wall..... (called a rainbow maker)

we got one of those, hung it on a string directly in front of my friends projector which was aimed at the wall playing fractal videos, we then spun the "rainbow maker" in place while playing the fractal videos through it.... fucking bad ass.

It reflected the light throughout the entire room constantly swirling in slightly variating patterns.... I was sober, and trippin out.

One of my friends turned his basement into a trip room/underground night club. He used lasers, tons of glow stuff and black lights, he had talented friends paint interesting things on the walls...we got a great sound system and DJ stuff for party nights...the next thing will be a smoke machine.

Go to spencer's gifts

Could spend about $1000 on lights there without any trouble...

This reminds me of the first time I tripped when I moved out of home, getting dressed with all my clothes around me, all the fabrics had different vibes... colours, smells, textures... I want a corduroy blanket.
Also the fluffy walls in Get Him to the Greek!

The laserpod supernova is fucking awesome. Its expensive buts its still the coolest thing i've looked at tripping(light wise). Also I to the guy talking about blankets, I love blankets when tripping(vellux are sooooo soft, and then goose down you feel like your falling into a cloud).

NO! Fucking pop culture. Infects every good idea. I had that idea while looking at my shelf, which has over time become a storage space for the physical reminders of the things I have done with my life so far.

Inception was a good movie. But what really pisses me off about it is that now, every time anyone has an idea involving dreaming, they're going to compare it to that, instead of sharing the idea in an open way, uncoloured by the perceptions of others.

Haha I understand, didn't mean to entice such a hostile response but trust me I understand :P

This is the sort of bedroom I'd have killed for when I was about 15.
