Is there a drug named "aura?"

My friend was telling me about this drug called aura, that he described as:
-Strongest and most intense hallucinogen he's ever experienced, more intense than 5-MeO-DMT, loads of acid, etc
-Strong, chaotic OEVs (said everything in front of him look very distorted, like violently vibrating) and very vivid CEVs
-Very strong aural distortion, stronger than DiPT's
-Lasted over 20 hours, with the peak being around 12-14 hours
-A research chemical

He's experienced with hallucinogens and isn't really someone who exaggerates stuff. I don't think the 12-14 hour peak was actually time distortion.

He doesn't know the chemical name or any other names it might have. He's only come around it once, a couple years ago, and no one we know knows what it is. I searched the web and couldn't find anything except this thread on here -

None of the responses in that topic really fit his description :\

I can't think of any drug that has all those qualities - DOI has the length, but not intensity; 4-HO-DiPT has the intensity but not he length; etc. And being more intense and chaotic than 5-MeO-DMT is just 8o

Maybe he took a high dose or there was more than one substance in it? What is this mystery drug??

I feel like I'm gonna kick myself and my friend after I find out what it is :\

I have a strong feeling he will never know, "aura" sounds like it could be anything under the sun that is psychedelic being sold as "aura" lol.

I've never heard of the name 'aura' being used for any drug, no. Trying to figure out which class of chemical it is based on a second-hand report from years ago is quite literally impossible; you say DOxs don't sound like it because they're not that intense, for example, but I'm sure I could find trip reports to the contrary.

I'll leave this open in case someone has heard of a drug being described by the name 'aura' but I ask that people please refrain from taking wild guesses at what drug your friend took. "What did I take?" threads are not allowed, and "what did my friend take?" is no better ;)

By the way: next time your friend encounters a mystery drug and whoever he gets it from won't tell him what it actually is, only some bullshit trade name, you should tell him not to take it. That's not very safe. :\

If your friend offered to sell you it, then I'm sure he's exaggerating and just using the name as a way of stopping you finding it elsewhere cheaper. In fact the fact that he mentions how he hasn't been able to get it again almost makes it sound like he's suddenly going to "find one last dose" or something and say you can have it if you're willing to pay a premium.

However that's just my opinion. The reason I'm saying that is because as an "experienced" psychedelic user he should know better than to go by dealer's names for drugs, and he would have immediately assumed it was something else.

Although you trust him not to exaggerate, it's VERY easy to exaggerate an experience from long ago. If it was as good as he makes it out to be, I'm sure he'd have gotten more at the time.

Also, you say for example "DOI has the length, but not intensity;" - a drug doesn't define it's own intensity, pretty much all drugs except those with ceiling doses have an unlimited intensity, it just depends on the dose, the DOx are a perfect example of this as many people have vastly underwhelming experiences and others have experiences more intense than anything else they've ever taken.

My guess is a DOx, but we can't identify drugs here for you, particularly from a vague description, an unrelated name and a report from > a year ago that isn't even your report but a friend's.

Going by the other thread, people seem to suggest 4-HO-DiPT or 4-AcO-DiPT, those are possible and it's possible that his memory of the event isn't too good so he remembers it lasting longer than he thought it did. The AcO tryptamines last longer than their HO relatives, however not ~24 hours. It is possible though if he took a VERY large dose that it would match that description, including a similar duration. It's possible the person selling him it accidentally gave him too much.

never tried it myself but what about 2C-P? it seems to be pretty rare which would explain why few people have found this "aura" and has the length that your talking about, and is quite potent so overshooting and getting this intense trip your talking about wouldnt be hard

I did 12mg 2C-P once... didn't really feel it till about 2.5 - 3 hours, as this sensed "squiggling" feel behind everything I looked at, that soon became explicitly seen... I still had visual effects and trippy mindstate 15 hours later when I woke for the next day. So it coulda been a very heavy dose of 2C-P... there are some OMFG type reports regarding real high doses of 2C-P.

Tryin' to make me sound crazy, huh?

I don't need any help with that ;)
