Back from seeing Jan Garbarek and the Hilliard Ensemble at Kings College Chapel (Cambridge). Wow. Amazing.

Basically, it is Jan Garbarek (A saxophonist) harmonising to the singing of the Hilliard Ensemble (gregorian chanting quartet). Beautiful experience, all inside Kings College as well. I wish I had taken some 4-aco-dmt, but to be honest, it was wonderful sober, so no loss.

Only half of the inside in the photo, doesn't the size justice at all... (that and the performance was at night time so there was ambient lighting that worked perfectly for the mood created by the music.)

Having Jan Garbarek and members of the quartet being very close to you as they played with the acoustics of the building by standing away from each other really made me appreciate them even more. The quartet holding notes/hums for ridiculous lengths of time in a perfect tone and pitch and of course being able to see when he chooses to come in with the saxophone. All for £10, bargain.

Man I never knew you were from the UK, and from/close to Cambridge too? I lived 20 minutes from Cambridge before I moved. In Haverhill, you might know it.
 
w00t, thought I was out of weed and I cleared my kief drawer in my pollen box already, but I took the actual kief screen and tapped it out as best I could and recovered another small hit worth of that precious ganja dust. I bet I could smoke the screen itself and get baked... ;)

edit: got curious and looked up kief on wiki, found this mouth-watering pic (click for full size, was a bit wide for the forum template):

Acquire 2 doses' worth of opiates -> use opiates 2 nights in a row. Here's to reminding myself why I don't let myself acquire larger supplies of addictive things. :p

Is it common to love comboing opiates with psychedelics, BTW? The closest I came to exhibiting self control with this hydrocodone was thinking, "I'd enjoy it a lot more if I had some 4-aco to combine it with." I haven't read much about people doing this, but at least with the combos I've tried it's lovely.

^Psychedelics and opiates do synergise in some way, but, like east and west, never the twain shall meet.

I don't mind being on opiates when tripping, and really have little choice now- but I don't find opiates sedating or anxiolytic- quite the opposite- so, subjectively at least, the trip isn't dulled or somesuch. Just tastes different.

Boogie down, I'm onto str8 buprenorphine now, no more nasty naloxone crap. All under medical supervision, which may or may not be meaningful. :)
 
ive had pretty awesome times smoking DMT after IVing H.
In fact the first time i met an entity that i communicated with was while smoking DMT on H. I feel it allowed me to go much further without experiencing the fear.

Ive also IV'd H while on LSD.
That was also fun but if you take too much opiate it will drown out the psychedelic as you slip[ into the nod.
Lower doses will mix wonderfully, but will take away the depth from a trip
(except DMT IME)

Yeah, I saw the CPU thing on Reddit. It was actually designed outside the game and then imported into the game somehow, right? Pretty cool that you can do that.

I love that so many other PDers have lucy available again! I wonder if it's pure coincidence (or synchronicity ; ), or if it's flooding the market right now.

i guess it doesnt hurt that Phish and Furthur (the new grateful dead project) are touring at the same time.

I've only tried low dose (10-30mg) oral hydrocodone with moderate doses of longer lasting psychs. 20mg of hydro and 18mg 4-aco was great - it seemed to cut out any come-up anxiety completely (not that 4-aco produces much to begin with), the euphoria from each seemed to complement one another nicely with the hydro providing a sort of baseline euphoric state and the euphoric 'bursts' I get from 4-aco sending me into absolute bliss for a moment, and the visuals were significantly potentiated - normally that dose would give me slight breathing, color enhancements, maybe slight hints of motion or patterning, but with the hydro I was getting full-on colorful patterning and movement over pretty much every surface. The only downside was that between the two drugs and the fact that it was a late night dose, I was pretty sleepy throughout and had difficulty motivating myself to do anything besides sit and stare at the pretty colors. Next time, I'd like to try it when I'm better rested and probably with a nice cup of tea or something to keep me awake and alert.

It makes sense based on my hydro+4aco trips that opiates would be a great 'starting point' for a DMT adventure. I get 'the fear' and pre-trip anxiety from DMT like nothing else, and it can be hard to get sub-breakthrough doses just right where the rush doesn't become unpleasant but the effects are as strong as desired. It seems like the opiates would help calm the rush and bring out those mid-dose visuals. Maybe I'll pick up a couple more lortabs when my next pull is ready.

but yeah, opiates do make a good launch pad for DMT.
Like you said, they slow the rush, allowing you take more hits than you are used to before realizing you gone real far. But even then there is no fear, as "too far" with DMT is just right.

MDMA has also always been a good launch pad for DMT. I dont remember if it slows the rush but the anxiety is non existent and the synergy can me you cream you pants.

^^^ Heh. That reminds me... I've been meaning to make some.

I've only tried one low dose of DMT while rolling, but it was amazing; what 'should' have been a pretty mild dose produced OEVs of several female entities who materialized all around my room, poked around exploring and looking at random objects, then vanished. They didn't speak, but I got the sense that they were friendly explorers who, much like myself, were trying to take peaks into strange and unfamiliar worlds for no reason but their own curiosity. I hope they enjoyed their trip! ;)

As for opes and DMT, those 'purists' can go hang out on Teo's site, where they can get a taste of their own medicine by being chastised for preferring pure freebasified DMT to ayahuasca (which means you use caapi for the MAOI, dammit, or you're life unworthy of living for misusing the word!!11). Down with their chemical caste system (ooh, I like that phrase. I may bust it out again next time someone talks about how DXM users need to find 'real' drugs).

What's with all the opiate talk? That stuff belongs in the trash.

Last night was a weeeird night...started with 10 mg of 3-meo-pcp on a whim ended up with 2 tabs of LSD on my tongue about an hour later.

A sense of predestination was heavy early on...a good friend of mine, who happens to be my philosophy instructor for the one philosophy course I took in undergrad, texted me earlier in the day yesterday about Ratatat, saying that he recommended it, and that it had been on the "most played" list by his younger brother, former BL'er, DoubleTrouble, who is now deceased. Double trouble passed away 6 months ago of an accidental opiate OD. Sad story...brilliant kid, maintained a near perfect gpa at a top university, despite the polydrug abuse and multiple stretches of rehab. My heart hurts to think about him. What made it doubly weird was that Ratatat was playing live in my home state not too far away at the exact time that I first listened, which was last night after ingesting the 3-meo-pcp. And then to make it triply weird, I posted the 'explosion' link before I'd even watched the video, which turned out to be a mix of bombs and footage of the Hindenburg disaster. Detonation. My mind is still reeling...

And now it's Sunday morning, and I'm still going strong on LSD. Beautiful day...I think I'm going to go for a run now.

Yeah I know haverhill, I have a few friends that live/d there. I live near Ely but spend most of my time in cambridge as thats where i went to school and college and where most friends are etc

I always wondered if your username was about Jesus Green in cambridge lol :p
