Opioids whats this black mark on my arm from iv oxycontin??

im concerned, i shot up oxycontin last week and i felt a cold sensation the next day in my arm, and than later in my wrist, but thats all over now, i have no bumps, but, theres a black line on my vein, it runs down my arm just like my vein and then fades back to blue like the rest of my veins, its almost not noticeable but theres definitely a difference, could a black line be serious? because it looks alot like the rest of the vein its just darker, any advice from someone who had an experience like this, or have heard of anything like this, i heard this was a great site for advice and alot of people are really helpful, so im looking foward to hearing some solid responses from experienced iv users, goodnight bluelight

p.s., im not looking for advice on why i shouldnt have done it, just on the black mark ty again
 
I would go to a hospital asap. This could be a sign of several serious conditioned that may need to be treated immediately. I am sure that you do not want to risk losing a limb.

While I almost already know the answer to this question: Did you use a micron filter or a balled up piece of cotton?
 
Yea this doesn't sound good. You might have blocked the blood supply. Tissue necrosis? Hard to tell without seeing it. Go to the hospital man, this does not sound healthy.
 
Is the area warm and red around the black streak? Is there any pain? If so it could be a blood clot, please go get it checked out.
 
Medical advice can only go so far with the internet, and it sounds like most everyone here thinks you should see a doctor. I wouldn't freak out (obviously you're not too much because you haven't rushed off to the ER), but I wouldn't risk the permanent damage that IV problems can cause. When I shoot I use micron filters; you can get them on the internet (pm me for a source) and I think they greatly reduce injection risks. It also is surprisingly more simple and quick to prepare a shot, and nice because I don't have that constant worry that I didn't filter well enough and nervousness about having the kind of problem you're now faced with. I mostly take methadone though, so micron might be a bit on the expensive side if your an every day shooter.

I'd say you have about 24 hours to go to the ER before you have a very high chance of having your arm removed. Seriously, you see something like that you know there is something wrong and shouldn't have even spent the time writing on the computer, should've went straight to the ER. I majored in Nursing, I am not joking either. Just from reading I am thinking it is a blood clot and could be a very serious condition if not treated right away and could be potentially fatal if left alone.

Not trying to scare you or anything just letting you know. Good luck and you are in my prayers.
 
this is from the same shot you started your other "iv oxy cold" thread about?, where your arm was cold and you said you used a dirty cig filter to filter your shot? If so, and you're still having trouble from that same shot there is deff something wrong and you need to get it checked out.

Thats what I was wondering about if this is the same as that other post cuz I was lookin at that one earlier too.
If so..
Then you should for sure get this checked out.
The hospitol staff isn't their to get you in trouble so don't worry about that if you didnt know.
If you go in and tell them what happened they will do everything they can do to make sure your arm is okay or if it's not then make sure it is treated accordingly.

I hope you have health insurance though..Because even jsut a simple few tests,even if it turns out nothing is wrong,can be pricey.

I pray that everything clears up with your arm and it is okay.

You're being pretty dramatic. If you read the OP you would notice he said he shot LAST WEEK so i doubt he is on the verge of losing a limb, much less within 24 hours.
Now, if the area is red or hot or starts getting worse in any way, seek medical attention.
If it were me and it seemed stable and you just had some discoloration, i would be running hot water over it frequently(or hot compress), applying neosporin and a moisturizer/lotion with vitamin e in it, and STOP shooting oxy, especially in that vein or any nearby. This should reduce the appearance while promoting healing and sterility.

psst, (dont tell him ) but I was kind of trying to scare him so he would go get it checked out. I know how drug addicts minds work, been there done that.=D=D

Actually no there's no pain and no other marks or colorS,it's pretty much faded, almost can't tell it's there but it looks darker than normal, I'm on probation and I think if I get it checked out I'll get arrested and/or get cut off from my doctor who's from a pain clinic, it's been a week and it seems to be fading away with no other symptoms so, do u guys still recomend I get it checked? Does it really sound that bad? And yes it is the same shot as the other post. Thank you everybody for your advice, what do u think I should do if I feel fine and it's going away?
 
Also can it just be a bruise from injecting? Does the discoloration on the skin from the bruise last a little longer than a week? Everyones so helpful on here that's great

They can't arrest you for seeking medical attention, the doctors will not inform anyone.
