Can anyone please do a study on DXM?

I mean considering millions of teens are overdosing it and it's quickly replacing crack, meth, and cocaine. Doesn't that mean we should show it some concern? I mean if I knew what I needed to conduct a study, I would. But I have no clue and it's ridiculous to see everyone studying the same drugs when DXM is the worst one out there. Me and my addiction psychiatrists talk about this all the time.
 
DXM is not physically addictive and it does not cause as many deaths as cocaine,heroin,or crystal meth,and is usually abused by teenagers,and it is a legal substance available over the counter.I don't think it is close to the worst drug out there,but it is a dangerous substance to abuse.As far as millions of teens Overdosing on it I do not know the numbers,but I think that if you compare the damage done by heroin,meth,and cocaine to society and families and high crime rates,a drug such as DXM is not considered to be a "bad drug",although everyone with any commonsense knows that DXM is a dangerous drug ,but it is far from replacing heroin,meth,and cocaine by far.Even among teens pharmaceutical drugs abuse kills more than everything but alcohol.Very few people on here are young people who still take DXM ,as there are much more powerful and much more pleasurable substances in the world,although i admit DXM is a problem.
 
DXM abuse has been fairly stable since its introduction in the general population. It's never been a huge drug of concern because it is usually self-limiting in nature due to typically dysphoric effects. There have been quite a few studies conducted in relation to it and its abuse, search "dextromethorphan abuse" on PubMed: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed

It hasn't been displacing other major drugs of abuse too, many of which only suffer minor fluctuations in demand over time.
 
Where did you get your info? Most of those overdoses were not really overdoses just kids who got scared or caught and were taken to the hospital. Its ridiculous to even think its replacing other drugs. Thats not goin ever happen. The reasons a lot of teens abuse it is because they can steal it from the store. Im sure if they could steal some blow from a store they would. Hell i would lol

The problem is when kids start taking like 10 triple c's every day and fuck their livers up and stuff. I know a girl that was addicted to them and its sad b/c ea one contains a dose of acetominophen and chlorpheniramine, which can be fatal in high doses. And now here liver is fucked up, and it wasn't even the DXM that did it, just the other actives in the shitty pills. My first robotrip was on like 12 of these, which was really unhealthy and im lucky i only did it once. Now if i ever consume a dxm-containing product, which is very rare, its either alone or mixed w/ guafinesen. No other shit!

Yeah sure she was, she was just a dumb bitch nothing more.
 
^Obvioiusly she was a dumb bitch, but that doesn't obscure the fact that she abused them for weeks on end b/c she liked the CEV's and geometric shapes and just being fucked up, and what began as fun became a habit/addiction. You can be addicted to other dissociatives so why not dxm?

Yeah you can get addicted to anything in the world, but doing things that you like to do isn't same as addiction. Bad habit? Yeah.
 
Her tolerance was through the roof, she didn't feel normal unless she had taken some dxm. Being sober was just completely boring and anedonic for her to the point were she felt compelled to steal CCC's from CVS every day. You said it yourself that you can get addicted to anything, and although thats pretty broad, i'm sticking to my guns. She was addicted to DXM. Im sure it happens very rarely, and you'd have to be pretty stupid to become a DXM addict, but thats what she was. She straight up admits it. She doesn't say "i took DXM for a while, stupidly, fucking my liver up." It was more like, "I was addicted to cough syrup and triple c's and took them every day for a couple months and it fucked me up really bad"

never did ccc's, never will.
know a lot of people who did though,
they really got fucked, physically and somewhat mentally speaking.
i've seen dumbasses nearly die drinking whole bottles of nyquil/dayquil too.

after six years of myself abusing dxm, its getting kind of mundane, even with combination's.

now the effects just feel like 5-10mg of 2c-b and being drunk with a little morphine, opposed to the full blown dissociative dex trips i had back in the day.
 
isnt that the stuff thats only naturally evident in your body twice in your life... when you're born and when you die?

so have i, taking doses about 2000mg is usually only safely done by someone with a high tolerance, other wise its kind of a waste or just dangerous to anyone else...
; but no one really knows too much about neurological effects (regarding long-term abuse) stuff like i.e. onley's lesions and other brain damages associated with dissociatives as much as i'd like them too, its all just mostly assumption.

using it occasionally has proven to be pretty safe, but there are rare cases like with anything else.

i posted some weird side effects i've felt for the last 24 hours in the health living forum, and i think its something neurological or just anxiety related.
that being said i'm taking a break, since i hadn't stopped taking 4th plateau doses over the last few days; i might just have a case of reality shock but its mostly subsided now.
 
Man to me DXM fucked my shit up. I tripped so hard one time (1200mg-1400mg) and thought the earth turned into hell. The guy on the Rock radio station in my car sounded like a demon and as I was driving my body started to fry and get hot. Felt like my brain was melting.

yeah i drove. i felt like i was going to lose control but i focused on the road. Dude no lie it felt like my brain was sizzling, more like popping. BTW i have like 20 lesions on my brain already so shit either the benzos, or DXM did it.
 
haha well i don't even have a license, so no one has to worry about me driving on anything.
its probably the dxm.

around here where i live we call dexing - frying, for a good reason.

most people use the term frying for shrooms/lsd and other psychedelics too, but it seems most appropriate for dissociatives.

my brain probably looks like swiss cheese. :P
