Ok so i use amps on a fairly regular basis .
Hardly ever for social reasons or any other recreational reasons . Its usually (90% of the time ) for studying as i am in senior year and things are gettin effin hard .

So yeah i was wondering if any of the cognitive side effects of using amphetamines will actually affect someone that uses it primarily for studying .
Cause i was thinking that when i use it for studying my brain is actually being used more than it has ever been before .
I am also learning new things (i.e creating neuro connections) when studying on amps .
I even socialize in class on amps and im learning something there because im not usually good at socializing .

so like could studying while on amps counter effect the negative congnitive side effects ? THanks

I'm a junior in college and have used meth and Adderall to study. I don't think amphetamines are that bad for you for studying, just as long as you can focus on studying instead of doing random things like posting on Bluelight.

I would try to use coke to study and every single time I would end up staying up all night, downloading music and fail the test the next day. Just make sure to not to depend on them for studying or any drug for that matter. I have been clean for roughly 2 weeks from opiates and I am having a hard time studying. Even when I was using opiates heavily, I would not even bother studying if I couldn't score.

Be safe.

My friends girlfriend in college said when she took 30mg of adderall before a test she didnt study for (She always has to study usually) and she got like a B on it and remembered alot of the ansers..

Its wierd but its helps alot with schoolwork.

Amps don't make you smarter or remember things you never learned. It is sweet that you are so concerned with your friend's girlfriend though.

when my friends and i (im prescribed 30mg adderall xr) take addys and have to study or do a school project or have a test we always end up doing better than we would without it. it helps (me at least) retain more information and it makes me ocd when it comes to doing something neatly and even makes me need everything to be PERFECT and without them i could give a fuck less lol. so IMO i think adderall (and amps in general) are pretty good when it comes to studying or work and anytime you need to do something that HAS to be done correctly or anything.

Were these questions difficult?

I found that I had usually good work without studying, but I assume I would have done just a little worst without them because they were so easy in the first place.

Ok my question applies to people who actually study when they take it .

I know for some amps don't work.

But for me they really do .

+ whoever said amps don't help u rememberstuff is wrong . Amps temporarily increase dopamine levels . And dopamine is one of the chemicals that help recall/remember stuff

I'm pretty sure memory problems are associated with amp use though...

Dangers are 1) potential damage to DA circuits involved in mood and cognition and 2) dependence on amps which means you can't study for shit without them

Occasional use for study might be fine but you're far better off learning to study via discipline (or a lesser stim like caffeine or modafinil).

Jean-Paul Sartre used to abuse tons of amps when he worked. But he was Jean-Paul Sartre.

Taking Amphetamines is bad for you, regardless of what you do while on them. If you are going to be taking amphetamines, You should worry more about proper rest and nutrition rather than whether or not your brain is being "used more" (I'm not sure what you mean by that).

Amphetamine(s) don't make you remember things you wouldn't otherwise remember, no. But they do speed up the function of your neurotransmitters, therefore they can often allow you to think through and remember things more quickly and efficiently. This of course applies only if the drug is used wisely and in a therapeutic context, as in here and there, or in the context of a prescribed, titrated daily regimen. Not in the case of someone who has been heavily abusing the drug everyday at high doses for years, etc.

I guess I didn't really answer your question. Short answer: No. But the question itself "Are Amphetamines bad for you?" is highly subjective, as I'm sure you know. Obviously, for example, abusing amps heavily is bad for you; it will screw up the balance of neurotransmitters, burn out receptors, cause psychosis, etc. But as far as physical and/or mental harm is concerned, I don't see any cause for concern over occasional use of Amphetamines, whether recreational or for studying/work purposes.

Relating to what I said above, in my experience, occasional use of Adderall for studying or working on papers is safe, and can be extremely helpful/useful as well. Hope that helps.

i like you, only use addy to study. and have only had good experiences, as its not often and i dont otherwise abuse amps.

Yea dude no matter what you do with amps if you keep using them it is causing some harm. Lowering dopamine in your brain, and probably causing down regulation of dopamine receptors. You should really only use adderall and amps to study for BIG tests, other wise use coffee and other things for daily work. I am not scripted any stimulant but i have used it for studying and yes it helps a TON. But i don't want to become Dependant on something that can have many negative side effects. Also with continued use your brain is really going to slow down with out having a stimulant pumping dopamine into it making it process and work harder, in turn making your memory worse, focus worse, and putting you in a shit mood.

Yea, the Adderall knows when you're taking it for studying and when you're taking it recreationally. So when you take it for studying, the Adderall says OK, he's being a good boy so we're not gonna hurt him. But when you abuse it, however, the pills say Holy shit he's abusing us, let's fuck him up! So to answer your question, yes! The pills are either bad for you or not depending on your intentions when taking them. If you're a really smart guy you might can find a way to trick the Adderall, like maybe opening a book so they'll think you're studying, but then doing something else after you swallow them.

Lol trolling you hard, hes making fun of your threads title. Come on martin you should have been able to answer the question your self as i've seen some of your posts. No matter what you use it for it is going to end up doing more harm eventually.

Won't make you do better than you normally would do. It just physically prolongs your ability to sit in one spot and grind your face against the books. It might help you figure out concepts a little faster, especially in mathematics, but it increases your chances of making tiny mistakes and fucking everything up.

Its great stuff if you're a procrastinator
