methadone: time after, help!

hey guys quick question
I've been taking methadone pills for 3 days 10 mg ones orally and iv.
How long should I wait til I can shoot like a oxy 40 or 80?

Depends on how you many 10mgs pills you were taking for 3 days. Some people can get away with using the same day, yet other people end up ODing.
Better off not slamming them.
 
ya i agree with sid. methadone can affect you in many different ways when taking other opiates. sometimes methadone can block any euphoric effects from other opiates quite comparably to suboxone, while other times it can act as an antagonist and add to the potency of the second drug. its hard to say how it will effect you. personally i've never mixed the two, so i cant really say for sure, but those are both pretty potent drugs so i'd wait it out as long as possible. better safe than dead, right?
 
Wait for feeling cold and feeling movement in your intestines. That will be the sign you need whatever opioid... And if you're not addicted, some doses would be handy to answer the question.
 
If you have only been taking methadone for three days I would wait at least 2 or three days after last use of the methadone. Because your not used to taking it you should be able to tell when most of it is out of your system. And being you only took it for three days ,its not really indulged into your fatty tissue and system . Methadone has a long half life. Very slow to metabolize ,but everyones different . At least 2 days though in my opinion....... Being that im a noob to this site I cant post my own thread, so Ill ask my question here. Ok Ive been using H since i was about 18,im 30 now. Ive been in and out of Methadone clinics for about as long. This last time Im 6 years without Heroin and on Methadone maintenance . I currently take 120MG white 40mg biscuits a day. I was talking to my boy In the U.K (Ireland) and he said the PHYSEPTONE (METHADONE) overseas is twice as potent strong as what I get here in the good ol USA. Does anyone know anything on this subject? Ive done research but havent been able to confirm or deny this? Thanks in advance..
 
methadone has a "bloackade" effect when used consistently for a few weeks/months. this doesn;t mean it blocks other opiates, it will just take higher (read dangerous) doses to get recreational effects, you will still get analgesia.

you will/should be right to feel the oxy, maybe give it 24 hours.

You can do the oxy anytime you want. I dont understand your concern, you didn't state it very clearly.

Are you worried about having precipitated withdrawals?...because thats not gonna happen with methadone.

Are you worried about the methadone blocking the other opiates effects?...

in that case, the oxy should only add to the effects of the methadone, unless you were taking huge doses.

If you were taking less than 40-50mg's of methadone a day I would say that there would be practically zero blocking effect and you can take the oxy anytime yo want and it would probably even feel better because of the methadone.

If you were taking between 50-75mg's a day there probably would be some blocking effects but how much is hard to tell....different for everybody.

If you were taking any more than that, I would wait atleast 24 hrs after your last dose to take any oxy.

*Also.....you were IV'ing methadone pills?.....thats is a horrible idea and very dangerous. Please be very careful if your gonna do somethign as dangerous as that. At the very least you should be using a micron filter. Im not trying to tell you what to do I just hope that your being safe for your sake. Sry to impose.*
 
To NJKDOKE: I know in Germany they use some methadone which is twice as potent as the one we're using in France, yes.
I'm no scientist but it's a question of racemic compound and left and right isomers. So we use the racemic compound, they use only one isomer, so it's twice as potent mg for mg.

Yes that is what I was reading as well. I had no idea there were different types of methadone.He says they are 5mg pills ,but that its twice as potent. So maybe it is the left and right isomers methadone. Im gonna give them a try so if they are twice as potent I dont want to take my usual 120mg. Im def gonna have to do some more reading on it. But my question is still out there if anyone has more info?Thanks....

Today, a number of pharmaceutical companies produce and distribute methadone. The racemic hydrochloride is the only form available in most countries, such as the Netherlands, Belgium, France and in the United States, as of March 2008. The tartrate and other salts of the laevorotary form (levomethadone, with trade names including Polamidone and Heptadon) are available in Europe and elsewhere. These are possibly more potent and lack the cardiac effects such as lengthened QT interval caused by the dextrorotary form. The major producer remains Mallinckrodt, who sells bulk methadone to most of the producers of generic preparations and also distributes its own brand name product in the form of tablets, dispersible tablets and oral concentrate under the name Methadose in the United States
 
Both isomers of methadone are active. R-(-)-methadone is 1.8 as potent as racemic methadone and S-(+)-methadone is 0.1 as potent as racemic methadone. So be it only the more active isomer or the racemic methadone, doses must be adjusted properly. And citing Opioid Analgesics: Chemistry and Receptors by Casy & Parfitt "In man, 4-6 mg of (-)-methadone were found to be as effective as 7-9 mg of the racemate against postoperative pain."
