Heroin Can I space out heroin doses to avoid tolerance?

Im probably going to do heroin for the first time this week, will likely shoot about 25mg or so.

And I'm not looking to form a habit or anything (but who is?)... anyways, I'm wondering if you space out your doses (like if I dont do it again for a couple weeks/months, etc.) can you avoid developing a tolerance so that you are still shooting the same amount as the first time?

If so, what amount of time would you guys recommend?

You "can", but a lot of people would cave in and start using daily/multiple times a day. I hope that you realize the risk of this happening is very high compared to other drugs and their addictive natures.

If you use proper technique and a new needle every time, one IV injection per week is almost nothing.

However, IV injections can cause drugs to be more addictive than they otherwise would be. There is also nothing wrong with snorting some to test for purity either. It is at least advisable that you start by snorting 2x as much as you plan to inject, just to test for purity. This way, you can have a better idea of what to use for IV, so that you aren't disappointed and immediately do another, bigger, shot to try to get positive effects.

Well, I hope you're not the kind of person to get addicted to heroin.

At the very least, please look up information on safe shooting, and ask questions here about IVing if you have them before shooting for the first time.

Also, are you going to have a friend help you IV, or are you going to try it yourself?

Oh I realize the potential for an addiction Captain Heroin, but my life right now doesnt really let me have time to do this shit more than once a week anyways, and my whole reason for posting this thread is because I really can't afford an addiction, especially with the prices here, yet still I just wanted to try it and when I find out how much I like it who knows what will happen...

OK, that is a good idea.

Make sure that you are going to use a new needle, that everything is clean and sterile, and make sure you are able to hold still while doing the injection.

There's a lot more to know about this, and I trust that you have read up on proper IV injection procedure.

If you ever plan on IVing by yourself, make sure you practice with sterile water by itself first, because it's not as easy as IDU's make it look. It took me a while but I can inject with ease by myself now, but at first it was seemingly impossible.

At least make sure you use a tiny, tiny amount. You have never done an opiate, and you're injecting a substance which purity is most likely unknown which increases its bioavailability

tbh you should try snorting it, I would never think of someone opiate naive starting on shooting heroin

Heroin: The King of No Win Substances

Am I the only one that thinks that all things considered the original poster is doomed?

Bryan21, in the last year, I can think of six different real life people or internet personae that were going to casually use in the same manner you describe. They even used similar language as you do: "I don't have time for an addiction", "I don't have the money", etc. They are all now addicted and using multiple times a day.

This isn't a psychedelic where you do it once and reminisce and think about how enlightened you are from the experience. It is or can be the most powerful opiate you will ever take and you're going to take it in a manner that actually reinforces the addiction.

Consider this: You won't do it on a Saturday and think fondly about next Saturday when your week is up. IV Heroin will consume your thoughts. It's ALL you will think about. The initial rush, the euphoria, the nod, etc will practically beckon to you. ALL the time.

Also, I'm going against the grain here but I think that the real answer is "No. Even if you somehow contain your usage to once a week or less, the amount you use will go up." Why? Because just like every first time in your life, the first time you IV Heroin will be your best time. You will constantly seek that first high by using more and more product.

Also, keep into account a recently discovered phenomenon called "environmental tolerance". Basically, the research shows that by shooting up in familiar location on a regular basis your body takes steps to protect itself. It does this by increasing your tolerance to the drug when you are in familiar environs.

So yes, you will use more after the first time. And I'm pretty sure you'll use more often than you initially plan to. Your own posts above reinforce this thought.

At this point, I do want to wish you the best of luck. I will have NO PROBLEM being wrong about this. Hell, I hope you do prove me wrong, actually.

it is the most naive statement i have heard in a long time...if you dont have time or money in your life dont do it...heroin is no joke..its very different then any other drug (including oxys, etc) it does not have the nasty reputation it has for no reason...u have no business doing dope it will consume your every breath and move, capture your soul, chew on it and spit it back at you...take this seriously HEROIN IS REAL SHIT, NOT LITTLE KID STUFF ANYMORE

i seriously agree. heroin will take over if you do it. please re-think what you are saying. ive been struggling with an addiction for at least 6 months now and i hate myself for ever touching the damn stuff to begin with.

Let me tell you a quick story.


Im the summer of 2008...I went to the gym..saw an old friend there....I had a sore shoulder...the friend gave me three 5 mg vics.

I took one...had the best workout of my life!!!!!

I said I will only use this to workout...I did for a while..then I said I will only use this when I really need it..



within 2 months full blown addict...

feb of 09, quit CT...sucked.but went a month..felt FINE....happy moved on.

started up again...full blown....went to rehab nov 09..3 weeks clean..did it again.

this last time has been horrible...Ive ruined my life...

no one trusts me, ive almost lost the woman I love, almost lost my kid..I have stolen thousands from my grandma who raised me.



please walk away..don't do this...

I know that this site allows people to ask what your asking...but I can't sit here and act like its cool..

its not cool..being addicted to opiates wether is Heroine or Darvocet it sucks...life sucks..you lose everything...even if you never spend a DIME..you will lose everything you are.

your mind body soul will be taken, chewed up, crushed, spit out...

don't do it...you have a choice....just let it go..I can tell you, IT IS NOT WORTH IT

There is a problem with making an informed decision on whether or not to try heroin(especially IV).....

the problem is that you cant explain what it is like to use heroin using words, nor can you explain the dangers.....you can try but it won't truly get the point across and whoever chooses to still do heroin after "informing" themselves about the risks and benefits, will still be blown away by the actual thing....and quite possibly become yet another addict in the end.

The pure blissfull euphoria that can come from heroin cannot be described, therefore no one should make the mistake of thinking they are making an "informed decision" when choosing to IV some heroin for the first time.

That is a great idea in theory and on paper but the fact is that that most people do not have that much willpower. "Chipping" almost always results in addiction. There are statistics all over the world that prove this.

Allthough technically it is possible and if you are able to "chip" than by all means go ahead. But the problem is NO ONE can tell if they can successfully "chip" without ending up a full blown addict. You cannot see the future. I have personally witnessed people with strong willpower fall victim to the bliss of opiate dependancy. Myself included.

Just know that when you take a drug like heroin, even occasionaly, you are playing with a monkey that has the uncanny ability to slide right onto your back without you ever realizing its happening. Then the next thing you know you have a gorilla riding you that wont let you quit and youll end up dead, or in prison.

Im not saying this happens to everyone but the risk of it happening is a big one and the consequence is your life being ruined. Just be careful. And try your best to resist the most pleasurable temptations....those are the ones that will fuck you sideways and leave you slowly bleeding to death in an alley with a needle in your arm.
