What would a doctor do?

Would a doctor prescribe a speedball to someone? Obviously I don't mean would a doctor tell his patient to take a stimulant and depressant and shoot it up or snort it. But what I mean is, do people get prescribed both ritalin or adderall and opiates or benzos? I'm just curious because I sometimes take them both at the same time, ill usually do less than 20 mg of ritalin aand I'll take 1 lorazapam a littlee while after feeeling the ritaalin, so is this combination so "safe" that a doctor would tell his patient to do this?
 
Is the question, do doctors ever prescribe stimulants and sedatives to the same patient?

Then I'd say not often, but yes. A benzo could be prescribed to offset problems from amps. Narcoleptics can get stimulants by day and sedatives at night, sometimes prescription highly controlled GHB at night.

In the military go-pills and no-go-pills are used for soldiers and pilots. Amps or modafinil as gos and benzos or z-drugs as no-gos.

I'm sure there are lots of other situations but many Doctors try to avoid poly-pharmacy especially when substances prone to mis-use are involved.
 
I've been on a combination of Vyvanse 70 mg in the morning and clonazepam 2 mg at bedtime. In addition, I can take .5 mg of lorazepam up to three times daily. So yes, they can prescribe "speedball." It's very common. But if you get prescribed take-home vials of cocaine and heroin (a real speedball) I want that doctors name and number.
 
Would a doctor ever say take your stimulant and your sedative at the same time? For instaance ill use some common things that are prescribed, maybe a 15 roxy, a 20 mg ritalin aand a regular dose of valium all together?

Some may some may not, i wouldn't even if he told me to cause they both cancel each other out.

Forgot to mention i also get ambien and thats the only one i take the same time as the Roxi, i have tried taking the Roxi and Ritalin at the same time but it's just no good for me.

Go easy if you have all 3, thats one withdrawal i would not want to go through.

Tons of people get a benzo as well as ADD medication.

Fringe people, like probably most of this board, often have anxiety AND trouble concentration (obviously ADD, right?). I know a number of people who have been RX'ed both at the same time.
 
I know its not a speedball or anything, but I get valium, morphine IR, morphine CR, and Marinol from my doc.
 
I know a guy who gets oxy 40, valium, adderall 30, and marinol.

And another on morphine 15, ritalin, and xanax 2, so yeah it happens fairly regularly.

I'm lucky if they give me an antibiotic.
 
im prescribed 10mg adderall ir 4x a day, as well as 1mg xanax 2-4x a day.....
however...i never take the xanax cause i dont wanna fight my anxiety with pills...i wanna try and deal with it as much as i can on my own, and if its too much then ill take a xanax. As for the adderall....no joke, i shit alot on it, so i usually only take it like 2x a day
 
of course adderall will make you shit, its a CNS stimulant, increases your metabolism, leading ME to urinate a lot, going poop alot, and when i eat my stomach absorbs it quick and i get hungry within the hour. i dont waste my benzos with adderall, once i start crashing, i wait to my CNS stimulation decreases, then when i feel depressed and all that shit from the crash, then i take the benzo, cause wheni tak e a benzo soon as i crash with CNS stimulation and depression,i would have to take extremely alot more xanax then i usually take for relief. i've found, and only do it once inawhile that if i dose with a benzo, THEN take adderall, i get all the great amphetamine effects and absolutely no negative effects which amphetamines can cause, hypertensive etc.....so to even avoid that, i switched to RX Dexedrine, goodbye :-isomer, goodbye negative effects, hello baby more benzos to save and stock up on

Yes, I'm in South Broward and my psych doctor used to give me provigil (not that strong of a stimulant for me anyway) effexor, and ativan to take at night. But he would warn me to only take provigil in the morning and ativan after dinner. It went pretty smoothly until I went to a different Walgreens in Ft Lauderdale. The pharmacist called me at work and told me he thought it was dangerous and "you know this is how Elvis died?" I told him I've been on these meds more than 2 years and never had a problem. He phoned my doctor and got this sorted. I spoke to him later and his tone was much nicer.

Ok here's another weird one because I exclusively see my pain doctor for every single thing since I have no insurance. He's been prescribing roxy 30 or 15 for the past 4 years but since this sudden shortage, I can afford only hydro 10/325. This man always weighs me in and telling me how thin I used to be and gave me phentermine. This is hard for me to take - even cutting it in half because I sweat like mad and heart races. And this is the doctor who discovered my heart murmur and when I started taking it, I lost nine pounds and he was very pleased. I gained the weight back and he makes me feel like a fatty again. But he says lots of people have heart murmur and have no problems whatsoever. I'm a little torn because I need to lose weight but can't tolerate this pills...theresa
