Undercover Cops at Raves/Events?

Do you think there are undercover police at raves/events/festivals etc, that are trying to SELL drugs? Or do you think if there are undercover police they are more likly trying to BUY? Or perhaps they are doing both? What do you think the chances are that they are even there at all?
 
They're at a lot of events, especially the bigger ones. They're only looking for dealers, but if you went up to one and tried to buy some off of him/her I don't think they would have any problems busting you either.
 
Yeah that's pretty much what I figured. I hardly ever go to events because it makes me really paranoid, I'd ususally prefer to just sit at home. But I have been rethinking this going to a smaller event. So you don't think they are trying to catch users? Like you don't think someone would try to lure me into buying something from then?
 
Can you buy before and bring it with you? Street/club dealers are not always the most reliable sources, whether they are police or not :)
 
Oh I understand this. I can just picture myself out of pills, than some guy lurks up to me saying how he has some fabulous pokeballs and than in my inebriated state I go to buy one thinking it's an excellent idea, and then BAM my ass is in county for the night. But maybe I'm over analyzing it?
 
yea you are over analyzing it. if you cant seem to hold back from buying a pill when you are already rolling then you shouldnt go. why not just buy enough pills so you dont have to buy anymore? i always end up having rolls left over when i go to events. but some people cant seem to stop eating pills untill they are cracked out for three days. idk what type of person you are.
 
It's simple enough- don't buy pills from anyone at the event and don't sell any extras, even if you meet some nice kid and they get all buddy buddy with you and ask you if you can spare some. It's just not worth it. Equally, even if you're rolling your face off, there's no reason to tell strangers that you're rolling or you took pills. And if anyone asks you if you know where to score some pills, say that you don't, even if you do, just to avoid getting someone else busted.

That said, you're just over analyzing it. Just keep a low profile and you'll be fine. If you feel the need, just pretend like you have no idea what ecstasy is, where to get it or what it does to you, even if your eyes are the size of dinner plates and you're chewing gum like your life depends on it.

Yea id be more worried about getting bunk in that sotuation. They want dealers.
 
I don't recommend buying pills from anyone you don't know, especially at a big event. At the smaller partys i've been to i've never heard of or seen anyone getting busted by uncovers, uniformed officers yes, but not undercovers. Plus you never know what's in pills you buy from strangers. Like the other BLers said they're mainly looking for dealers so i wouldn't worry to much about it.

If your still paranoid about it then i would stick to smaller partys... they're usually more fun with better vibes, in my opinion.

I guess I'm just afraid I am going to get myself in some stupid situation (buying an extra pill was just an example), because I can be somewhat compulsive when I'm on e. But I think you all are right I'll probably be fine as long as I don't buy anything from anyone or talk to anybody about buying pills.
 
correct me if im wrong but i dont think you can get in trouble for trying to BUY drugs since you dont actually have anything illegal on you?

undercovers wouldnt try to sell you anything, they would only try to buy from you

you're wrong. cops can and have set up sting operations where they can snag a buyer. if a substance and a price has been agreed on between the officer and the other person, they can get you with intent to purchase.

it's the same concept that they use when posing an undercover as a prostitute: you never actually have sex with the cop/prostitute... but the intended deal has been made.

HOWEVER... as it's been said a few times, they're typically trying to bust the biggest fish that they can manage. So that guy with a jar of pills that he's selling left and right is gonna be a much higher priority than you just looking for a couple of pills. But, either way: if you end up trying to do a deal with an undercover.... you're prolly getting in some trouble.
 
With all that ^^^^ being said: I wholeheartedly reccomend trying to find your gear before you go. The benefits are several-fold:
1) you're not under pressure to find shit before the night's over and thus don't make an impulse buy
2) less chance of dealing with a cop
3) you can have more of an opportunity to research the pills you're planning to get or test the ones you do get

If you do end up going to the event empty handed: discretion is key. Don't go around asking every single person you see if they have pills. And I'd be careful about random people that approach you offering to sell you gear. Often times: the eager strangers have shitty pills and are just trying to move them fast to make their money and then get out of there.

I'd reccomend just enjoying the vibe and making friends around you.
Eventually, you're gonna see somebody rolling as hard as you would like to be. That's the person that it will probably be safest to talk to. They may or may not be able to help you. But if they are clearly rolling face, then odds are: it's not a cop out to bust you.
 
Not sure about over the in US, but in the UK police can only look for the dealers and they have to be offered the pills. Otherwise its called Entraption, the police can never sell you pills and then bust you EVER in the uk.
 
Dont buy pills from random people at events i tried that once and got meth bombs, awake for 3 days without eating. Never again!
 
At raves in places like Cambodia and Thailand they do this allot. It could happen in the US but is rare.
I did once see on cops were they had black officers dress up in gangsta atire and were busting people on the street just for buying dime bags of crack and such
 
Technically it would not be entrapment if they offered you pills and you said yes. It's a bit of a grey area, but I think you would still want to be wary.
 
^^not gonna stop them from busting your ass...youd still have an arrest record, just no conviction, but itd show up on a background check, say for a job or a rental agreement
