If you had to pick...IR or XR Adderall

hey, if you could choose which version to get on adderall, which would it be and why? if you open up the cap and chew on the little pelets, then xr becomes ir anyway right? well i just want to see what others think on this.
 
For combating ADD/ADHD, working or doing schoolwork...XR. I feel like the XR version of both Adderall and Dexedrine is better for being productive but the IR version is more recreational and "drug-like"...

But what I really think is...skip Adderall and go right to Dexedrine.
 
IR. The ER seemed to come on in waves. The IR was way more consistent. And even chewing the pellets didnt seem to make the ER completely IR. I've never done dexedrine, but will continue to run medicine cabinets looking for the goods.
 
For my ADHD symptoms, the generic XRs taken out of the gelcap and not crushed or chewed work the best.

ir doesn't work past 4hrs for me.

prefer dexedrine to adderal,altho if the dose is high enough for adderall i would pick the IR just because it is more of a recreational type drug than the XR version,in my opnion.Again this depends on the dosage..I like the rare Dexedrine syrup,5mg per 5ml(teaspoon). I knew a dude that had some of this Dexedrine syrup his doctor gave him for some reason,and it was great,althouhg it still was not instant hitting you,it was quicker than digesting a pill or capsule with "pellets" of dexedrine of a dexedrine tablet...We drank about a shot glass each of the Dexedrine syrup,which is 30ml or 6 teaspoons which=30mg Dexedrine of the syrup and withing 30 minutes it was kicking in pretty good and after an hour we were both fully amped up...lol..gimme that Dexedrine syrup,it was flavored although i don't remember what flavor it was,it was tasty sruff,and it got you amped and lasted a good 8 to 10 hours..
 
If you want a high then IR but if you want it for medical purposes, then XR....

...allthough I wouldnt do either unless I had a benzo or opiate for the comedown.
 
I agree with the above Dexedrine statement even though I have yet to try it only looks like the gold. I hate Adderall xr for Many many reasons. I liked Adderall ir when I was prescribed. I never likes Adderall. I always hated it but doctors seemed to think it worked on my better than concerta, ritalin, and other useless garb like straterra. I guess for some people it works and if it works go with ir, but for me all it does is this. Make a sudden come up of over stimulation, then you're left with an uncomfortable wave, followed be wtf weird/shitty thoughts. I am in the process of getting switched to Dexedrine. I am on 30mg Adderall XR once a day. I always crush the beads I find if I dont I get nasty issues with my stomach. I also think that it comes out faster this way(exits the body). It just never works when YOU need it to it seems. I like Adderall but IR only please and doctors need to consider Dexedrine more often than Adderall IMO.

does anyone know the significant difference between Adderall XR and vyvanse.

I usually prefer XR, simply because it gives you the option of IR as well. If you want IR, just crush up the balls, if you want XR then just take it whole, or mix the two. The XR can be good too if you need a longer effect.
 
i like ir...i also like to shoot it tho....only the first shot gives you what your looking for but its still fun to shoot...havent had xr in years....i miss adderall
 
I'll echo here... XR is great for studying, you can just go for 8-10 hours in a straight shot without having to redose. The instant release is better for getting high though. In theory you could just crush the beads and defeat the time release, but like I and others have noticed, they're just not as good as the IR for some mystical reason.
 
I prefer IR cause I like to control how much I'm on constantly, dose as needed. Usually if I have XR I just crush it up and put it in a drink or something.
 
I've never tried Adderall, but I use dex-amphetamine (Dexedrine).

I'd always pick IR, because I like to dose when I need to, and I prefer the effects to kick in immediately.
 
Constant use of IR though from my experience results in more addictive/addict-like behavior with all the redosing, but that could have just been cause I couldn't ever tweak hard enough and had a ridiculous supply.

Vyvanse is lisdexamfetamine (Lysine bonded to amphetamine) a molecule that is inactive. When you eat it, your stomach metobolizes it and pretty much cuts part of the molecule off, and the lisdexamfetamine becomes the active amphetamine then and only then. Adderall XR contains tiny ass little beads that contain amphetamine. I believe 25% of these beads get dissolved right away while the rest get dissolved hours later. You can still abuse adderall XR by dumping the beads out of the capsules, and crushing them in a shot glass, then drink or snort the powder.

Hence, lisdexamfetamine was designed as an inheritly, unabusable form of amphetamine. It only works once your stomach has "activated it." Also, it should be noted that lisdexamphetamine only metabolizes into d-amphetamine (the good kind). Adderall IR and XR both contain 75% d-amphetamine and 25% l-amphetamine. To generalize, L-amphetamine is bad and you want d-amphetamine.
