What benzo would be the most effective for my problems?

Lately I've been having moderate insomnia, having no will to leave my house, and a good amount of anxiety. I will try to fall asleep... But I just lay in bed in the darkness for hours then end up staying up till pass out from exhaustion. Ever since my sophmore year in high school Id just rather stay inside and basically do nothing rather than to go to any social events such as football games or going out with a group of people, even visit family. I also have been having anxiety about meeting new people, school, and when I have work and school on the same day I get terribly anxious the night before.

I know opiates wouldn't help any of these symptoms, weed helps but that gives me even more anxiety sometimes. I've narrowed it downed to benzos but I have only experienced benzo's twice , but unfortunatly I was drinking on both occasions so it's a blank memory for both nights.

Could anyone shed some light on what benzos would help me the most for my symptoms? I'm thinking of talking to a doctor about this but I don't know when that will be.

Xanax, by far.

Though valium works good too, xanax kicks in so much faster and really relaxes the hell out of you, only downside is it only lasts about 4 hours tops, which is why people become addicted.

Know your limits, dont get addicted, and i think ull find xanax works great.

But id highly advise ambien before, as getting addicted to xanax for sleep can be very horrible. Do some reasearch its really terrible; i watch myself, and if you are going to do xanax start out with 0.5 and work your way up. 2mg (a full bar) was enough to completely KNOCK ME ON MY ASS, put me right the fuck out, but was real strong.

Ambien first, then benzos if you must is my opinion. Good luck.

sounds like depresion to me i had it for a good 8 months i would advise taking endep for anxity insomnia and the depresion i was on endep for 3 or 4 months i found they helped a bit then i switched to zolofe but that gave me seziurez so swiched back endep for another 4 months but after a while they wernt doing much for me so went back to doctors n he put me on lexapro (for social anxity)and valium (for sleep and panic attacks)...i would probally recomend getting onto some sort of anti-depresionts and possabley valium alothough the valium will NOT help with the whole leaving the house thing but i WILL help anxity quite well and will def help with your sleep....rember though benzo's arent a permanet fix and can be quite addicitive and one of the main withdrawls symptoms is anxity so i would advies geting onto lexapro my doctor said it is made just for social anxity...anyways man im babbaling on now hope ya get better soon and rember your not alone....

I would recommend 50mg benadryl per-night about an hour before bed. I suffer from very similar problems to yours and know how harsh of an impact they can have on your life.

That being said, I'm on a benzo to control my anxiety, but still find at night the benadryl is more sedating and helps me to sleep better. In my opinion it's one of the most underrated medicines around. Worth a try at the very least, though everyone is different.

I know what an absolute bitch anxiety is, and wish you the best of luck. Be sure to let us know how you are doing.

I suffer from insomnia and anxiety and take diazepam during the day 4 the anxiety and nitrazepam at night. The nitrazepam has a long half life so i am still chilled in the morning this works 4 me. We are all different but i would strongly recommend trying nitrazepam. Hope thing's improve.

I would go with a long acting like valium or klonopin then a short acting like Xanax or Ativan. I would reccomend Valium and Xanax. Valium will get you relaxed and xanax has the knockdown power to beat panic attacks or serious bouts of anxiety.

Currently I take Valium and Klonopin.. best combo for me. I don't get panic attacks anymore. Good luck!

Sounds like you have generalized anxiety disorder and social anxiety......Clonazepam would be the best for this imo......and for the insomnia a good hypnotic benzo will work wonders, such as temazepam or triazolam.

I have some overlap with what you're talking about. I've tried plenty of benzos, and in my experience alprazolam works the best. As mentioned the downside is that it's a short lived benzo, and for that I was on clonazepam as well; however, when it really came down to it, nothing helped like xanax. I've tried SSRIs many times, for long amounts of time, and they do not work for controlling my anxiety. I actually have been in a position recently that's causing some problems getting my scripts, which is really fucking everything up for me. Being displaced and dealing with small town docs really sucks.

actually, opiates WOULD work but dont even go there...

ur just depressed..staying inside and doin nothing doesnt help, it actualy makes it worse (DER!!)

get friends, go out with them, be nice, have morals, excerisise, take care of ur body, EAT, eat, and eat...when uwake up, do somethin g, dont sit there...think about ur future, and ur desires
i used to be a super depressed person, so i would know..
i notice im in a bad mood when i dont eat
