Hello BL people! :)

I just registered and want to introduce myself. I used to be a part of this community many many moons ago...I loved helping people with drug information and harm reduction...mainly with psychedelic drugs. In the process of helping I made a lot of friends...many of which I still hold very dear to my heart and see frequently around my hometown (Asheville NC).

A few years ago I went through some serious mental issues and became addicted to heroin and my personal character degenerated so I was no longer a healthy person to be around...in person or on the internet...I lost weight, became ill often, lost friends, lost online drug buddies, lost a girl or two, and was even told to leave BL (my internet home and sanctuary for so many years). Time heals (<3) and I am recovered from my heroin habit and dedicated my life to becoming stronger, mentally physically and spiritually.

I am deeply involved with a great and creative and funny unique beautiful member of this website (I will let her mention me if she likes). She is my world and my center. We are moving into a beautiful home in the mountains to spend the Fall together in a nest, peaceful...tranquil...what we both need.

My goal here on this site is to spread my positive attitude and converse with others that have a positive attitude. It is our karma as good people to touch each other emotionally and enrich our lives. I am hopeful great things are waiting for me (and you) in the future.

Welcome to BL, I love the NC mountains too :) go camping there quite a bit; My wife, reading your post over my shoulder, wanted to let you know what a great a positive attitude you have. Again welcome :)

I'm going to get silly but this gave me a mental image of Pai Mei from the
movie "Kill Bill", the samurai thing anyway I will be quiet now.

hey! I did my undergrad in philosophy at ASU. Its an awesome school with a lot of very sharp professors. My suggestion to your daughter would be to try to meet friends that are into going out and doing stuff in the AMAZING area surrounding boone. Dunno if shes into climbing, but its easy to get into with bouldering (lots of BEAUTIFUL boulders to climb around) and also hiking is amazing around. Its not hard to find people that are positive around boone and want to do stuff...it is a college town so there's a lot of drinking/partying/drugs but as long as she honestly wants to find some good healthy friends she can do it (it just might take some persistence). Good luck to her! and to you! <3

I too am in N.C (Charlotte area though) but Asheville is great..I used to live in SC and was actually closer to Asheville then than I am now.
I dunno if you like The Black Keys but I just saw them here in CLT opening for Kings of Leon. I am soooo jealous of you tho..because the Keys are headlining a show at The Orange Peel down there!I believe it's on the 16th.

I'm so glad you're back. You're def in my top5 of favorite BLers. I'm happy to hear you took back your life. I'm recovering from my heroin addiction now. Almost 4 months clean off that shit.
