Exactly 2 weeks ago, I had my first experience with any sort of psychedelic: 2 hits of LSD (which, my acid-experienced friends who took some of the same blotter said was decently potent stuff).

Due to some set/setting issues... I ended up having a pretty... Unique? and slightly terrifying experience, however: I want to give Lucy another shot (this time in a much more suitable environment).

As I mentioned, I'm a total newb with psychs. I've done my fair bit of research (thank you BL!), but lack practical experience. So, what is the reccomended length of time one should wait in between dosing LSD in order to reduce any adverse effects in regards to tolerance and my general health and maximize the high (as in, not tripping as well due to not wating long enough).

I'm in the process of working out a camping trip with a couple of close friends for this weekend and feel that may be a good time to give it another go. That would make 3 weeks from my last trip. Would this be a sufficient wait, given that I've only ever tried any sort of pshychedelic once?

Thanks! (Sorry for the long post!)

physiologically 3 weeks is way more than enough.

psychologically - are you ready? is the camping spot a safe space for you personally?

Ah, thank you!

Psychologically, I've thought long and hard about exactly what went wrong the first time and have made a game plan for the next so that things stay under control. I'm pretty familiar and very comfortable with the camping area and the people that would be coming. And it's far enough removed from society that I wouldn't be paranoid at all to just mingle outside.

To summarize my first time: me and 2 good friends (1 experienced with LSD and the other a virgin to it, like myself) were going to trip at their apartment. Things started well, but then their other roommate brought over some girls that ended up being bitchy, unstable and just freaked me out in general...

Thus, I bailed from his place and walked back to mine (I lived about.... 200 feet from him, so not a big deal). Unfortunately... I had neglected to tell my roomates what I was doing, so seeing them made me paranoid and freaked out as well. So, I rushed upstairs to my room, and locked myself in there with my dog for a few hours until I managed to regain control of my head... Then all was better again.

Classic example of set and setting horribly wrong!

ok - good - as long as you are putting some thought in to it you should be ok.

set - setting are good - how about purpose?

purpose: I feel that since my first trip got derailed, I didn't get to fully appreciate the effects of the drug. I was too busy freaking out to enjoy the sensations and visuals, and needless to say, I reaped little benefit as far as self exploration goes.

So my purpose is to go into it this time with a good set and setting so that I can have nothing to worry about except enjoying the different perception of myself and my surroundings and really pry into my mind. In short, I want to really see what LSD can do for me when I haven't been freaked out by outside things that I should have prevented in the first place.

Wow Blazif. Sounds like you got it down. kudos to the other above bluelight poster who asked the correct questions in order to get him thinking the correct way about his upcoming trip.

Dude your plan sounds so fun. And you really are a smart tripper I can tell the way that you didnt freak out too bad at what happened the first time (who wouldnt of done what you did in the same circumstances) and after you came out of it you started realizing what you could change and tweak to make the setting and the experience much richer. I am sure you will have a blast, wish I could go with you man haha

"LSD opens up new vestors and experiences to those who take it, and I believe that every healthy person should try it."

haha i love that quote.
