I find mushrooms to be incredibly cathartic

I do them every few months when I feel overwhelmed with all of the stuff in my life. They allow me to collect my thoughts and put everything in perspective. I feel like I accomplish a lot with every trip, and the feeling of well being and understanding lasts for quite some time after the trip is over.

Anyone else use mushrooms in this way?

usually, i don't do shroos for other reasons that fun. But i def. recognize that the feeling of having accomplished something big, stays for a while. I enjoy it very much and it is def. a plus

Yes it is, even (or perhaps especially) after "bad" or "difficult" trips. Purging. Cleansing. Like walking on fire. Like its burning them"gunk" out of your soul. Much more-so than any other trip IMHO.

With DXM, there's this feeling of guilt. That guilt forces you to take care of things before tripping and after tripping. You never feel as if everything's going to be OK. You're just thrown into a fantasy land. After the ride's over, you resort to cleaning and organizing to compensate for time lost.

Wish I could experience the Shrooms, but at the same time, I feel as if I need to make sure things are in order before doing them because I don't want them to be used as a way out of a rut. I want to be out of the rut and then do the Shrooms to go ever further, if that makes sense.

I used to get the guilt, but honestly, there is a give-and-take nature to reality in general and I have realized I shouldn't be feeling guilty from insights I would have not normally found, but lucky to be able to observe and improve.

yes - it is very analogous to a reboot. that and the prevention of headaches are very good reasons.

i like how after every trip its always like "i dont know how i can go back to regular life knowing what i know now"

^ For me I'm never in doubt that I will be able to go back, just a bit pissed off with myself THAT I will :\
But yeah, I agree with the OP and the dude who said 'reboot'. They just make me feel very, very alive, amplifying all the normal human perceptions, and analysis of said perception - whether they are good or bad.

Also, if I take a decent dose of mushrooms I feel SO awake and full of energy the next day, even if the trip meant only a few hours kip - it will always feel like I have a long, fulfilling sleep - only better!

hehe, sometimes i feel like this as well, and also "so many could benefit from this type of trip"...

but yes, I love mushrooms for the feeling they give me the next couple of days. Recently I have successfuly used them to relax after a few gruesome weeks at work. It was as if the trip was a real holiday for the mind, after which i felt nothing short of a small vacation. Actually I think I had less relaxing vacations with my family. :P

I wish I could have a psychedelic vacation with musical instruments, art supplies and a word processor. Just give me one month. That would solve all of my problems.
