Trying some DXM

hey guys im wanting to try DXM for the first time and im wondering what kind i should get and how many bottle to get me nice and tripped. I'm about 5'9 and 180.
 
CVS sells pure dxm gel capsuls. They can be popped and drank or just taken (although the onset can be a while). Two bottles (600mg) would probably be an aight first trip, you'll love music and feel good. If you're keen on dissociatives you might want three to four bottles, you might just wanna lay around and not move.

Wow.

Do not take 600mg for your first time, 300 mg is more than enough.

Also make sure to test a small amount first because some people have an enzyme deficiency causing the DXM to be EXTREMELY intense.

If you had said enzyme deficiency 600mg would probably kill you.

300 is a pretty weak trip. Maybe take one bottle and see how it hits you. I strongly suggest reading the dxm faq on erowid before taking it. It will make the trip feel a lot more comfortable and you will know about any possible complications.

300 mg is enough.... If you want to cure a cough.

If you want to actually have an experience, I recommend at least 420, preferably 480. I have started most noobs off at 420 - 480. 720 is not unreasonable.
 
This is nasty but fast, Zicam Cough Mist Max, just take that whole little shot. Withstand the taste, good strong drink + cigarette to help it go away. Thats what I did when starting, but when you're ready to learn more about it, this place can help you find what you need. :3
 
some people are lacking a particular chemical in their liver that processes DXM. for these people low doses have a very strong and often uncomfortable effect. its a pretty significant % of the population, something like 3% or so if i recall correctly. for this reason, a first time DXM user should always start out with a dose below 100mg. if you find that you react well to that dose, then repeat with a full dose in a few days.
 
lol im confused so many different answers. I think i'll try a bottle and see where that gets me, and write a trip report. Ill go see what's in the kitchen hahaha. I'm guessing the cough capsules work as well since the also contain dxm?
 
I wouldn't recommend 600mgs. I trip on dxm a few times a year and 300mgs-400mgs is a good dose for me. I only weigh 155lbs though.
 
You guys are probably right. I was skeptical about its effects when I first did it, and we each had 720. It worked out okay, and we had 900 or 1000 a few times. There's no harm in starting small to see how it affects one.
 
yes listen to the above posters, start low. You can always try more at a later date when you find a comfortable level. Take too much and you can't un-take it.

I found I didn't want to take it above 250mg drops spread out, this was fine for me I didn't feel I wanted to take it any further as I felt anymore and it would start to floor me, I don't like being unable to move around or do things.

I too dislike this substance the effects are just not for me, but please start low a build up as the above have said (worth repeating I think) people react very differently to this.
 
when i first tried dxm, i did 300 mg's and had a blast, but i weighed like 120. id take like 400-500 mg's. look up dxm dosage calculator and enter your info and take what it says is a reccomended 2nd plataeu dose

A 300mg dose for a first walk would be ok for you,its important with this one to start real slow if you want get something out of it.As a first timer you could arrange a nice playlist before u decide jumping in

PLEASE take that advice yeagerx. there's like a 1 in 20 chance that you'll have a very serious reaction to DXM. that's significant enough to not take the chance. google 'dxm cyp2d6 deficiency' if you want to read more.
 
I had never heard of this deficiency. Now I think I understand what happened to a friend of mine who seemed to have a severely unpleasant reaction to what I thought was a good low dose for a beginner.
 
Oh wow, 600 mg would have had me going crazy for my first time. I only drank maybe 3/4 of a robotussin bottle for my first time and It was quite intense. Honestly I hated the trip so bad, I thought I was gonna die or something. I don't see how people can like it. But everyones different.
