Hello - I love a good break up album - has anyone got any good ones I might not have heard of? Also songs that have helped you through a relationship breakdowns;

My favourites (some a bit obvious);

Jeff Buckley: Grace (Album)

Beck: Sea Change (Album)

Noah and the Whale: First Days of Spring (Album)

Grandaddy: Sumday (Album)

Bob Dylan: Blood on the Tracks (Album)

I can't really listen to it any more, though it is a great album.
 
There is only one "break up" album necessary; The Postal Service - Give Up. When life's got you feeling down after a breakup, just listen to The Postal Service on repeat and cry in the back room at work all day to your heart's content.
 
I'll second Blood on The Tracks, along with Desire of course.

Having recently broken up, I can throughly recommend Warehouse: Songs and Stories by Hüsker Dü. Just skip the filler and it's almost perfect.
 
You have to check out Building Distrust From Trust by Butterfly Train.

Ooh, forgot this one; Sebadoh - Bubble and Scrape. Lou Barlow's girlfriend came back to him when she heard it....

Good choice with the Postal Service! I`ve used that one myself in times of need. I suggest Cursive: Domestica. The whole album is about a couple falling out of love and getting a divorce. Its a short record(I think under 40 minutes) but all the songs are keepers.
 
^^ from coldplay to Marilyn Manson, brilliant. My parents love MM for some reason...

Another classic I forgot to mention, the clientele - strange geometry. A must for any Nick Drake or Galaxie 500 fans...
