Srooming tips

1. Always use a paper bag(not plastic) or something that will allow air flow when picking

2.Look for farms where the cows are feed hay. Feed is no good as it may contain nitrates and anti fungals.

3. Always turn over cow patties.

4.Check in the high grass for shrooms.

5. Make up a story and if there are multiple shroomers get your story straight in case farmer bob catches you.

My dogg is lost and we were looking for him always seems to work well for me. Hehe

Never go by yourself.

You can never predict if you will get bitten by a snake or something else bad happen that you would need help with.

Bluelight tips:

1. Always assume people will take psychoactives, even if you tell them not to. They haven't stopped due to legality, they won't stop because you tell them off for it. :P

Seriously though:

Don't walk down wet, slippery hills unless you know a way back up :)

KNOW YOUR MUSHROOMS. Don't eat anything you're not sure is safe.

Wat about the best time? As in phases of the moon and before or after it rains... Season? Anyone got any reccomendations.

strong tip i believe would be to find a book on it psilocybe mushrooms...

I found Psilocybin Mushrooms of The World by Paul Staments very interesting and a good read... I'm looking for more but it's fairly basic stuff when it comes down to it IMO... Only exotic strains and certain strains are harder to distinguish, but cubensis and semelentiea are fairly easy to ID IMO and the easiest to find, though the liberty caps have no Psilocin, its about 90% psilocybin....

Really all it takes is for the weather to be right. I would say rain and humidity are the most important factors. There should be plenty of both. Not sure if the moon has anything to do with there growth because they like heat not light. Light is not so much a factor as heat. They are often in the shade or under a cow pattie anyway

Definitely late spring, summer and early fall. Sometimes from may to december. Longer depending on where you live. Basically summer is best.

Better idea: only shroom hunt on your own property or public property. You're already doing something illegal with tough penalties if you get caught; why massively magnify that risk by trespassing? At least here in TX, if you sneak around on someone's private property in the middle of the night, you could end up getting shot.

^^ agreed, some great advice there. I've got one or two begging to show in my garden now (every year I seem to get more and more)

So a tip for me is:

Walk two foot from back door, pick, brew, trip the proverbial balls.

Seriously though a good tip is to take like-minded friends with you, I used to love the old mushy hunts with a pack of intrepid explorers, was a real laugh. You can help each other identify the goods as well.

Don't take any chances, if in doubt throw them out!
