ok here goes: depends on who stays a promoter or becomes one & they don’t have to take me seriously for my ideas to work. - few w/ willpower? =Correct. I do /will make sweeping generalizations so I guess I should introduce myself. Then we can have some real conversations. Its the internet. Public. It doesn’t matter what you do need more of or don’t need more of........you get what you get. or is this “ pat-each-other-on-the-back-&-tell-each-other-what-we-already-know . Com ? or - cares on BL = I know they don’t. not now....look@myjoin Date. Yes, I must say, and am always careful to repeat: Thank you Djs / Promoters........much respect etc... because I do like whats happening in Indy and they have done a GREAT job and I appreciate it very much!
& I don’t want to take any credit away from anyone..........it does just now occur to me that a sudden dip in the economy certainly did put a bunch o bars in a -aint-nobody-here-call-that-techno-kid-&-lets-sell-some-drinks sort of situation (again I’m not belittling anyone’s work) but yeah, seems to be a current trend..........it was earlier in the decade as well.....

Those with limited ability to analyze will perceive it as bitching.

..........you see the reason its so 2001 is cause the early twenty hundreds
were a hotbed of controversy......mostly it consisted of Good-natured Ravers trying to throw parties and deranged-childlike-jaded assholes on BL spreading rumors and talking sackloads of SHIT and trying to get parties shut down so that they could have this whole shitty city to themselves and Dj for 20 of their friends at some stupid bar so that their egos could get fully stroked.
Good for them, but so that handful of assholes can be "top-dog" or whatever they imagine, there are many hundreds if not thousands of kids had / have no scene................so.......in anticipation of this trend redeveloping..........
defense forces.....some *obvious* some not so obvious have to be in place to identify the haters before reconstruction of the good stuff can begin....

If everyone based their events on the ramblings of "anonymous" Bluelight postings, we'd be back to having 1 event a month.

To me, that's complacent.

Like I said, if you want to see change, insert yourself into the scene and do something about it. It's that simple.

I really think you're taking yourself way too seriously and not even allowing yourself to enjoy the music or event as a whole. If you want to complain about ticket price and sound quality then by all means complain about one of the many really badly promoted and poorly pieced together rigs going on right now in the midwest that actually do suck and cost more than your precious $7. And again, I think you are being nit-picky to the extent that it seems like you really don't even want to have a good time, but you'd just rather complain. WE'RE ALL HERE TO HAVE A GOOD TIME, RIGHT???

If you didn't expect any more than what you're getting on BL, then why did you choose to rant on BL and not go forth and take any of your "suggestions" into action? I think we all know it's a lot more involved than being overly critical after the fact, otherwise, you wouldn't be worried about proving yourself to any of these motherfuckers - you'd be putting on your own show and letting everyone experience firsthand why you're "worthy". <---welcome Perpetual Entertainment. YOU WOULD BE A LOT MORE BENEFICIAL TO THE "SCENE" IF YOU JUST SHUT UP AND PUT ON YOUR OWN PRODUCTION - no one likes to be bossed around by someone who doesn't DO anything.

Also for the record; I'm not interested in being worthy or cool or any of that.
& I don't need to prove myself to these people.
& not interested in bossing anyone around.
What is needed is an entity that is between promoters, that works in concepts and formulas, but doesn't really throw parties........like a nato of Promoters.......also...
dogma, tradition and cultural consistency.
Yeah, we're here to have a good time all 15 of us.............
It just saddens me to see so many people, promoters and djs who cant be on the same page to get a greater result and keep printing flyers, booking headliners and putting the validity of "Electronic music creates revenue" on the line to put 20 people on a counter.......its just silly. God, I guess Houseparties might be the best option for the indy scene right now....It accomplishes almost all of the essential components of a party minus all the cost issues.
& also.....as far as being critical goes...there is a reason why this is a site for discussion, otherwise we could literally just post prefabricated posts over and over. Also, if you take the time to look - I’ve given props and said plenty of good stuff about events too. Within the paradigm that our consciousnesses exists it is typical to distain the negative even if it HELPS even if it is the TRUTH. To immediately oppose the critical cause it is seen as the cause of frustration and hindrance to the productive, yet it is only through awareness of these negative factors that real headway can be made reconstructing our scene.
