I enjoy both the DXM and diphenhydramine highs (never had hallucinations, though) and was wondering if a combo of the two would be dangerous?

I was thinking (not tonight, sometime in the future) of dosing 300mg of DPH, then about an hour later taking 391mg of DXM, so that both drugs would start hitting me at about the same time.

I know they work on the same enzyme, and I've seen that there "could be interactions" when I searched google, but I didn't see any kind of indication what kind of interactions they might be.

EDIT: If you've tried it, how long did it last?

When two drugs work on the same enzyme, that just means they're processed by the same enzyme in the liver and broken down. It does not tell you how they will affect your brain.

I've taken the two in unison and so I can say its physically safe as long as you don't do too much of either one. However keep in mind that many people find antihistamines unpleasant, and they can be harmful in high dosages. I don't think at 300 mg you have much to worry about, however. I'd be more concerned about the diphenhydramine adding a darker, more confusing element to the DXM trip (which can already get pretty dark and confusing.)

I personally didn't enjoy this combination (around 500 mg diphen, 350 dxm) due to the unpleasant body load of the diphen and the realistic delusion/hallucinations where my room turned into a spider lair. I guess let us know how it goes though if you try it, but while it won't physically hurt you, I wouldn't recommend it since it probably won't be pleasant.
 
I love DXM and have thrown in 175mg or less of DPH on top of less than 600mg of DXM many times and liked what it does. Mild nausea reduction was apparent along with a more dreamy state that made getting lost in music easier.

I haven't done this combo in a long time, but it feels like it would get dangerous if you took the DPH real high, just be careful.

People get too caught up on words lol, if your combo is consistently legit then it will get all the attention it can. (I do understand categorization, it's natural, but I doubt any of these names will become well recieved like the candy flip.)

I know, but it sounded cool in my head, so I went with it.

Good to know it's not harmful; I may try it in the near future and repor back on my findings haha.
 
The name is cute but sounds just awful. And potentially bad for you.
 
wouldn't this combination (DXM + DPH) be similar to CCC (DXM + CPM) ??

ie, diphenhydramine is a H-1 antagonist like chlorpheniramine, so the combination, while less nauseating for some, could prove damaging or deadly to most people.

i would strongly advise against this combination as it could be inherently very dangerous, regardless of dosage ratios.
 
anyone who has tried it, how long did it last? were you able to function properly the next day?

@green: that sounds plausible... can anyone else confirm? I always thought the toxicity of CPM stemmed from it building up in the blood, not what antagonist it is?

EDIT: I've read a couple different trip reports about DXM where the person freaked out and went to the hospital, where they administered DPH for it...
 
DPH / DXM is the hallmark of the summer vacation crowd on 420chan. I've known so many people who have done it (and I tried 100dph/350dxm once) that I don't think you'll die, but I wouldn't recommend doing it because it's really not very good.

The good side is that DXM will numb you to DPH's body load and DPH will take away DXM's nausea. The bad side is that DPH keeps you from being able to enjoy DXM's music euphoria, which is really the only good thing about either drug. Oh, and don't think about spiders.

EDIT: Also, don't take chlorpheniramine. It's NRI properties make it even worse for your heart than DPH.

Really? Because I get music euphoria from both...

And you know saying "don't think about ..." will instanly make me think of "..."
 
I wouldn't reccomend this, at all. DPH is torturous, and DXM is borderline darkside as it is. Seems like it'd take the worst of DXM and amplify it adding it's own shittiness to it. No thank you.
 
oh god, I've done this combo many a time for experimental purposes, my warning to you and I hope you listen to me: DO NOT go high on that DPH. I did this at one point, 600mg DXM and 500mg of DPH. This was not a good experience, at one point I was sprawled out on my bed, leaning halfway off of it and drooling all over the floor, while that's fine and dandy, the odd part is I didn't realize I was doing it, I can't completely explain what I mean here, but it felt like I was watching a baseball game. like there was a baseball game happening on my floor right in front of me. At one point my mother walked into my room with taco bell in her hand, she smiled at me then started bleeding from her mouth eyes etc. I screamed and she disappeared. I didn't live with my mom at the time, I lived alone.
in doing this, you're mixing a dissociative and a deliriant two things that are very dangerous to be mixing. you're on two different drugs feeling two different things and because of the fact that DPH is a deliriant, you can easily forget you even took the drugs in the first place, which is never good.

Be careful with this, start small and work your way forward, have a sitter if possible or put a sign or so around you or on your body reminding you that you're tripping. otherwise things can get nasty quick. if you start off with any decent amount of this stuff without taking many precautions, you'll likely regret it.
