Question about long term usage of Oxycodone

I was just wondering if long term usage of Oxycodone can possibly cause any organ (liver) damage? For argument's sake, let's say a person used Oxycodone once or twice a week for two years. I've always thought no, but I woke up this morning and was pissing blood. I had taken 60mg Oxycodone the night before, but this has never happened to me before. The color has now returned to normal but I'm still going to the doctor to get some blood drawn and rule out any problems. I'm hoping it isn't related to the oxycodone, but I'm not sure. I also had taken an aspirin that day, which I found can cause internal bleeding, but I doubt that's the case. Does anyone have any information on this?

By the way, I'm talking about pure Oxy, no APAP involved.

718 My wife and i have been taking ocs as prescribed for 5 years and have never pissed blood before, so i can assure you it doesnt sound related..But you sound like you are doing the right thing by heading to the doctor..Never can be to safe these days.. hope everything works out for you and its nothing serious..Please let us know how it turns out.
Best of Luck..Olskool

Thanks for the reply and best wishes oldskool, that's what I figured. That shit just kinda freaked me out, and I guess fear and paranoia kinda gave in leading me to believe it was the drugs for some reason. Hopefully all the tests come back negative for anything serious.

Pissing blood can be the result of a bladder/kidney infection or kidney stone. Oxycodone doesn't cause any organ damage. Neither does any opiate/opioid with the exception of Pethidine which is partially broken down into a neurotoxic metabolite. I was taking Oxy on and off for about 4 years and I'm fine.

That's exactly what I thought, that they were pretty much non-neurotoxic. It makes sense and all, being that they prescribe them for people to take everyday for years. I've just been hearing a lot of people IRL saying that overdoing it with the Rx's will fuck up your liver for some reason, but then again, these are the same idiots pushing "triple stacked" pills and "heroin based" pills. Sometimes paranoia just overrides logic I guess, lmao.

I take alot of Oxy and I pissed blood. Had a wicked bladder infection possibly due to urinary retention.. Anyways my bloodwork on my liver and kidneys came back fine.. Just a UTI that went to my bladder probably because I didnt feel the pain from the UTI in my urethra.. so it goes to your bladder then your kidneys. Luckily I didn't wind up with a kidney infection. Go to the dr.

I'm pretty sure as long as there's no apap you can take any opiate indefinitely. I've heard about potential for liver damage or something of that sort, but that's from street heroin so it could be cut-related

If taking as much oxy as you do resulted in pissing blood, every heroin addict and pill popper would be pissing blood on the daily. I'm not a doc but I HIGHLY doubt these are related. Please do go to the doc tho, don't wait.
