Shrooms vs LSD

I'd really like to know how much better LSD is then Magic Mushrooms. I used to be really into shrooms, the most I've had at one time is 4.5 grams.

My experience was, the floor turned into water and looked like ocean waves, a clock floating off the wall, posters coming to life, etc. It was one of the most amazing experiences of my life and lasted about 8 hours.

I can't see how LSD could be WAY better than that, and if it really is, please explain how. =D

LSD can be very potent but since you've had a pretty wild trip from what you have expressed, I dont know if it could get any better. LSD is known to be very intense & depending on your emotional status going into it, you can get a great trip or a bad one.

LSD and shrooms are quite similar. It just really depends how good the acid you get is. LSD is usually a longer, somewhat more intense trip, but very similar effect-wise.

-i hope that was helpfull, haha.

LSD : Closed-eyes colorful visual and trips, like said before, the more the LSD is pure, the more you'll have a good trip. The trip vary greatly from the dose you took. +/-50mcg can give you a much lower/heavier trip.

You see thing moving, pulsing, you stay staring at things, walls , because the more you look on it the more it change. Contact with people is hard, your feeling angry and you feel your talking nonsense, except for other people on LSD, in that case it's fucking amazing how you can share your idea and trip. You got body tingling and you're feeling mentally REALLY openminded and highly spiritual.

All your senses are improved. For me it's better than shrooms. but I cant really explain why..

I find LSD to have a lot less of a flooring, ego shattering effect, or at the very least I find mushrooms to be more disorienting and less visual. Mushrooms feel more primal, and I feel more childlike on mushrooms, whereas on LSD I find myself very inquisitive and analytical, but the other qualitative characteristics of the trip aren't too different, both pretty classic tryptamines, but they do vary. YMMV and they really are quite similar but the differences are definitely there.

Psilocybin and LSD are apples to oranges. LSD is a force. Mushrooms are magick.

^^nah, more like apples and pears. They are very similar feeling, but there are subjective differences. I agree with Sunshine's analysis, although I'd add to it that generally for me acid seems to be uplifting, both physically and mentally (emotionally too, but so are shrooms) whereas shrooms tend to be grounding in the sense that i dont want to move, and i feel more like a part of the earth.

I personally like shrooms a lot more, there is more variety in the trip for me and I find it less predictable and more enjoyable overall.

Well put.

It's like comparing apples to oranges or apples to another fruit.

They're both fruits just like LSD and Psilocybin are both psychedelics but they're alike in some ways and vastly different in other ways.

I know ppl who like both drugs and some who prefer one to the other and others who only are into one of them.

To me mushrooms aren't less visual than LSD, at least they didn't use to be, but for quite some time now I have been hesitant to take larger doses of mushrooms, say 4 grams. It humbles me more, they are more like a dreamy fairy-tale that take me on a journey and warp my emotional responses. The body high is significantly more prominent than with clean acid.

LSD is much more clinical, I wouldn't say cold but analytical and clear-headed. Not that dreamy but much more here, although at higher doses things can get just as trippy and it is usually quite like a cartoon. In this respect it is similar to mushrooms for me, but with mushrooms the iconic stuff and cartooning is more mythical with a very natural earthy overtone (or undertone / undercurrent).
With LSD it transcends the earth-connection and the theme is more universal and outer-space alien-like. At the height of a positive mushroom trip I feel very connected to nature as a human with flowing emotions. At the height of an LSD trip I feel like a being, still human but with all outer and inner characteristics undifferentiated, pure simple and quite perfect. That is when I think you are coming close to Jungian archetypes and basic symbols. Very much like the source code of 'the matrix'.

I am less hesitant to take high doses of acid, because of a couple things:
- there is significantly less 'weirdness' or 'awkwardness', with mushrooms and some other tryptamines things can feel and seem extremely warped and fucked up without being able to determine how. It works on an irrational level, and I find that less clearly defined and therefore harder to deal with because I am a person who is relatively more rational.
- my emotions are more stable and kept out of the picture with LSD, I can feel extremely intense emotions, don't get me wrong, but it's less like they are put in a rollercoaster with no control whatsoever.

Pro's for mushrooms for me though are that it leaves a bigger impression, the immersion is much more direct as it is with N,N-DMT. And things like synaesthesia have been heavenly on occasion.

I have been afraid for mushrooms for a long time, after having done them extensively for a year or two and being kicked in the face by them very often.
I have used LSD so much in a certain period that there was almost nothing to be afraid of anymore, but it also made it less exciting and special.

I hope this can show you why rational people IME seem to prefer acid and irrational people who act on their feelings and instincts before all else seem to prefer and get mushrooms IME.
I hope it also shows what can be the price for either, and what can be the rewards, when compared to each other.

One thing for instance, that could make me say how acid can be way better (although it's not by definition IMO) is that clean acid feels impossibly light, like there is no physical load or even a psychological load that feels like you have to deal with some kind of distortion. It tends to flow much more easily for me. It also evokes deep thought, (yea ok they both do) but with mushrooms its more like something is communicated in a one-way type of lesson while LSD can be a mentor you can argue with and have a worthwhile dialogue to get to the bottom of things. I can choose much better where my thoughts go with acid, mushrooms seem to make me have an experience where I am scanned for problems and I have no choice but to face them, there is no running away or hiding.

Almost everything I have said about mushrooms goes for acid as well though if you dose really fucking high.

Anyway there is a whole thread on this already baby

I have much more experience with LSD compared to mushrooms, but I find mushrooms are more physically intoxicating than Acid.

With mushrooms I feel a bit more loopy and the visuals are more grand (terrain seems much more wavey and flowey) with LSD I get very complex geometric patters (stained glass esque)

Every time I've done mushrooms I've felt the need to be playing outside barefoot and feel primal and animalistic. With L I can have crazy profound trips in my own mind sitting in a room listening to music. I probably wouldn't be comfortable indoors on mushrooms.
