MD, VA - Gay Clubs

I've never been to a club (partially cause I have no job and little money), but I recently moved to Northern VA from MN and I was wondering if anyone knows of some good safe clubs or any tips to stay safe. I'm probably worrying more than I need to about safety, but I can sometimes be paranoid. Also please describe what the drug scene was like from your experience (sketchy dealers, do they try to keep it drug free, etc.).

If there are any other places you like to go for fun or just overall chill areas please list those too, ideally I'd like a place to make some friends as I don't know anyone here.

Btw I'm 19 if that affects anything.

your 19 wanting to know about clubs that i assume you have to be 21 to enter and you want to know what types of drugs they sell at these clubs?

whatelse you want to know..if its ok to suck the dealers off instead of giving them money in return for the drugs?

Not all clubs require you to be 21 for entry, just can't drink from the bar if there is one. I listed my age so people could help me find appropriate places. And I wasn't asking what types of drugs, I meant in general from your experience have the dealers been shady or were there even people dealing or how relaxed the view on drugs seems to be, I should probably edit my first post.

I don't care so much about the drug question as I generally wouldn't buy from random people and you can't really go into detail on here, I was just wondering what to expect.

Way to misunderstand the purpose of this thread.

In all honesty though blowing someone for drugs would probably be convenient lmao (KIDDINGGGG).

Virginia isn't the best state for anything gay-related really. Very redneck, very conservative and very restrictive laws in Virginia.

You'd have better luck in Maryland (Baltimore), or DC (Dupont Circle). Most clubs and bars in these states require you to be 21 to ENTER (not just drink).
 
^He said he moved to NOVA, not VA...two very different places lol. For anyone who has lived up there Northern Virginia is pretty much DC, very liberal, with a fast paced, rich lifestyle....now the rest of VA is poorer, redneck and conservative, but up there its a whole different scene.

I lived there for 8 years, but I'm not gay so I can't help you too much but I did know of a lot of gay people who loved there Meth, so I'm sure the scene is very much alive. If you're having trouble finding anything locally just go out to Dupont Circle one weekend night and I'm sure you'll meet a ton of people from the whole DMV Region

Is there anything else I could enjoy in these areas? I'm not really that interested in clubbing, just getting desperate for shit to do cause I don't know anyone.

I'll be 21 in little over a year from now and I don't have much money so idk if I care to buy one. I'd rather spend the money on clothes tbh, I have very few pieces of clothing that I like to wear >.<

It might be better to just wait til 21 to go clubbing anyways, but I still need something to do to enjoy my youth...

Check out U-street music hall on U street in DC, Very good music scene and is usually free if you go before 11. It is usually just 18+, If you go to the right show there will be candykids and rollers everywhere and you will likely be approached and offered. Never been there but I have heard "Town" is the gay bar to go to, although it may be trashy.

I also recently moved to NoVa and there is absolutely nothing here. DC and B'more are the only place to go. Be careful around dupont circle I have been numerous times and seen no drug vibe, but maybe I was at the wrong place.

Dupont Circle in DC has a good gay scene from what I am told. There a few clubs there. I haven't been myself but I'll ask around. I think HRC is based out of DC so maybe by volunteering with them you could meet other people to hang out with. They would also be able to tell about violence against GLBT people in the DC Metro area. Same sex marriage is legal in DC now but that might not be a good indicator as to whether or not it's truly gay friendly.

NoVA should be its own state. It is so different from the rest of VA.
