I understand the effect of O-Desmethyltramadol are rather different compared to more traditional opiats but I am wondering how strong it is, or how effectively it will stabilize withdrawal symptons compared to other opiates.

If someone took 100 mg of O-Desmethyltramadol orally how many milligrams of oxycodone, morphine, or hydromoprohne would it roughly be qeuivalent to?

If someone snorted 100 mg of O-Desmethyltramadol how many milligrams of oxycodone, morphine or hydropmorphone would it roughly be equivalent to?

I'm also interested in how many milligrams of snorted oxycodone, morphine or hydromorphone would 100 mg of O-Desmethyltramadol administered rectally be comparable to.

I also hear that O-Desmethyltramadol has a long half life and could be effective for opiate withdrawals and tapering.

My friend is interested in the usefulness of O-Desmethyltramadol for tapering off of opiates. He has a small habit, snorting about 50 mg of oxycodone in the morning and 50 mg of oxycodone at night, just to stave off withdrawals. Sometimes at night he adds small boosters of 4 mg of hydromoprohne on top of his 50 mg snorted dose of oxycodone.

How much O-desmethyltramadol would he have to use to get the same effect as 50 mg of snorted oxycodone? He says he is open to snorting or rectal administration as it seems oral is a lot less potent.

Any insight or estimates would be appreciated, just specify if it is an educated guess from experience or just your thoughts or anectdotal comparisons you have heard from others.

Thanks!

Short answer to your topic title only: weak as fuck

From what I've heard and read, the M1 metabolite of tramadol (which is what I think we're talking about here)is responsible for the more pronounced opiate type effects when taking trams.I've heard of ppl IVing this drug with good results, with more narcotic/morphine like effects then plain old tramadol

I got to mess around with thiss chemical a few months back. It doesn't really compare. There was. Some similarities with traditional opiates, but not many. I only took it orally and plugged though, so I.v. may be different. Plugged being the best that I tried. I took doses of up to 300mg at a time, finished the gram in like 2 days. It felt like a less speedy tramadol. I did nod off of it, although it was strange because I felt almost sober otherwise. I don't have a high tolerance either. 50 mg of hydrocodone has me nodding pretty good. Only plus that I found with the odesmethyl was that it lasted about 8 hours.

IV was boring to 100 mgs but did not trigger any seizures or other problems. Weak opiate rush and subsequent wimpy opiate high lasting about 3-4 hours. I have no opiate tolerance currently and would have felt nothing if I had, though I do have a kratom habit that may be raising the bar.
Very underwhelming overall. I have about 250 mg left and think I may try to IV it all at once. At least it was fun to play with - I actually think tramadol is better as a mood elevator than its metabolite as an opiate.

Guys, he's not asking about your opinions of o-desmethyltramadol, but dosage equivalency.

There is no established equivilancy since o-des is not used in mainstream medicine, however the figure I keep seeing from animal studies is 2-4X the potency of Tramadol. Let's err on the side of caution and say it is 4X as potent.

This sourceequates 50mg of Tramadol to 6.6mg of Morphine, which sounds about right IME.

So 100mg of O-des = 400mg Tram, which going by the above would equal 52.8mg of Morphine.

Hope this helps.

No way is it that potent. Granted the product I have is not verified, but it has about as much effect at 100 mg IV as a few norco (ie 30 mg hydrocodone) taken orally. That's pretty wimpy and nowhere near 50 +mg of morphine. Maybe 10 mg IV, but no more than that .

^ The morphine dosage given is for oral, which is certainly reasonable. Also remember that the potency estimate of "2X - 4X of Tramadol" is very vague, particularly that it is for animal data. I used 4X to remain safe, it may very well be 2X or even less. I haven't personally tried O-Des so I can't relate subjectively.
