I have never tried shrooms or lsd but i have tripped on mdma and kinda on ketamin

I am 15... kinda young i know and all my friends wanna get lsd, some of them have done it before, some have not.

What i really want to know is some people say the trip depends on the quality of your mood before hand, or the setting your in... i.e a room with nice music and nice lighting will make you trip nicley.

Also am i too young? My friend recently (hes like 19 so its a bit different) had just spent time in a mental hospital for doing too much acid and as soon as he was let out he went to the band, took out all of his money, spent it on acid, took it all... he ended up throwing away everything he had and the police found him wondering round some random place in london naked... hes now in the hospital for two more years.

I know its stupid because he took loads and already had mental problems but because i am young and inexperienced it may not help me.. i already suffer from depression..

Thanks <3 Irma x

I've talked to folks that recommend holding off on LSD till 21+ and say pre 21 to try the 2C's. Just passing it along.

^^that sounds about right, although low dose shrooms are real nice at about 17, when you are in that weird stage between being an adult and being a teen. also, if you get caught, you're still a minor!

I was terrified to take LSD at your age, even though I was curious.

Live more, learn more. If you really want to do a psychedelic at your age, I suggest trying 2c-i. But I agree with bignerd. Good idea from a developmental standpoint if you wait until 21 or so.

I didn't take cid until I was 18 and I still didn't feel too prepared. It's not going to go away. If it does, become a chemist. :p

Yeah your mood and setting do contribute a lot to your trip, a hell of a lot in some cases! and I wouldn't suggest tripping in doors either, if you're going to trip (which i don't suggest, i'd say wait until like 18 or so), depending on where abouts in London you are, go to somewhere like Epping or Highgate wood... I infinitely prefer being out and away from civilisation when tripping, the beauty of your surroundings will astound you!

Hey i took LSD for the first time at 15 and loved it. never found it again until i was 20.
I think the point is, if its there, don't abuse it, you have a mind, you may be young, but we're not going to tell you what to do.
Educate and inform yourself about what it is you are getting yourself into.
and if anything, don't drop the acid with a crazy guy who spent time in a psychward.

that could lead to terrible mindgames being played against you.
Manipulation, rape, who knows.

Play it safe, if you genuinely want to experience something as such.
Experience it for yourself alone,
thats what it was for me my first time on LSD,
just make sure you have a playlist of awesome music
A comfortable place to relax where you can just drift inward.

and as i said, DO not Take LSD with a mentally unstable person who is X number of years older than you because he knows "how the game" works. you don't

Don't take psychedelics when you're depressed and just wait until you're 18 and have established an integrated enough personality or ego before dropping something like acid and crushing that ego.
Of course there's much to be said about ego dissolution and there are most definitely very positive sides to temporary deconditioning / temporary ego loss but simply put it's quite unwise to fuck with something that is not sufficiently matured.

I keep seeing this come up, suggesting rc's to kids under 21. Why?

I think a small dosage of acid should be okay for teenagers. Where are you supposed to get 2C's? Dealers in my area don't seem to carry that.

i wouldnt put a age BUT i would say, anytime under 18 i would have just used it and wasted it and get nothing from it.

ur never too young for shrooms, they're one of the tamest drugs out there. take 2 or 3 eighths, lie back and enjoy :)

In all honesty I don't think there is an "age limit" for psychedelics, but I think there is a time when each and every person is ready. For one person this might be 15, for another this might be 25, for another this might be never.

If you're having any doubts about tripping now, my advice is to leave off for a few years, before you know it you'll be 18 anyway and you can decide what you want to do.

Physically and mentally you should not experience any problems but at your age there will be a lot of things that could really get to you on your trips, and so you could be put off psychedelics for life by an early bad experience - if you wait until you're older you'll be able to handle a bad experience much better and will enjoy psychedelics more fully.

If you do try psychedelics, start low and work your way up - never take anything when you don't know what it is, and ALWAYS do it in a safe environment - with friends you trust who know you are tripping and are happy with it (if they're against drugs they might make you feel unsafe or paranoid) - at least until you are more experienced (safe environment still applies but you won't need a trip sitter)

If you're really interested in them but would like to try them when you're older, take some time to research them. There are hundreds upon hundreds of different psychedelics out there, learn about them - when you finally try them you'll know a lot more than most of the people around you taking them and you'll be able to enjoy them a lot more. I'm someone who researches everything I try really thoroughly and I've yet to have a bad experience except with Ritalin - the one drug I didn't research properly.

There are different magnitudes of psychedelia that exist.

Although I think 2C-I, 2C-E, and all of those can be very intense, high doses of tryptamines have blown my mind over the past few months and I am just shocked in a way that is becoming less confusing. I think if I had smoked a bunch of DMT at 16, a lack of cumulative knowledge from living and my current real world environment would possible suffer much stronger consequences in integration acceptance/ability to use psychedelics in an honestly positive frame in my worldview.

I did a bunch of DXM and did try low doses of LSD and mushrooms as I progressively got older (I did try smoking weed and drinking a handful of times in my early teens), but I didn't plummet down the rabbit hole like I have recently. All of these indulgences have consequences, but looking back, I got a lot of shit from my lesser use at a younger age just due to my environment in level of learning in life so far.

Basically I think an ultimatum to moderation and peace of mind are what lead to overall improved psychedelic experiences. (and holy shit, has it taken me a lot of learning and binging on psychedelics to get to this point!) This moderation should include dose, current state of mind, and ideal current and long term setting. These are just some things I wish I could have told myself earlier as I really think I would have experienced similar amounts of psychedelia while still living my life more if I could have understood them. (Which I have heard this shit my whole life, maybe it just wasn't meant to click and tune in until now.)

Didn't for me. It could do, but it could help, also.

Possibly, but do you really think that's the way to go, including the real risk that it makes thing worse, or more complicated, etc. Psychedelics can definitely be therapeutic, but even adults need to use them right for that. Just ingesting the stuff doesn't magically do it, it can but not reliably, and it shouldn't be left to chance or rather external factors. Set & setting, and a sitter / guide who is best a good friend who you can talk to about stuff that comes up.

Young people should definitely seek a different approach that is more controlled, and controlled by the right people.

I know from a very good friend of mine that professional help or substance use can both be pretty much useless if for instance your parents are just not open to who you are (becoming). Always address the root of the problem.

^sarcasm is impossible to read online. jokes are out of place when you are providing harm-reduction information.

irma, are you currently taking medication for your depression? are you seeing a therapist? i would strongly suggest you DO NOT stop taking your meds, and DO NOT combine psychedelic drugs with doctor-prescribed meds. at best, you will not feel anything. at worst, you will upset the brain-chemistry balance that your doctors are trying to achieve. wait until your depression is under control, then take another life-assessment regarding your own readiness.

remember that psychedelics are POWERFUL tools that can show you heaven or show you hell, depending on what door inside your mind YOU choose to open. it's all already inside you, the acid just shows it to your face. if you are not ready to see hell, then you should not attempt taking acid. it can bring up repressed memories that can be very traumatic to work through unless you have guidance from a shamanic friend or caring therapist.

on the other hand, there are cases in which psychedelic drugs have been successfully used in treatment of depression. it can allow the user to break free of self-destructive habits and thoughts because it allows you to see yourself for who you truly are, instead of lying to yourself. this process is NOT EASY and it does not happen overnight. the "trip" is just the message. it is up to YOU to take heed and allow your mind and spirit to grow into a fully functional human being.
